Just to clarify is Pakman saying that all of maga was built on anti-war foundations, some of maga built on anti-war, or this recent election of trump based on anti-war? As much as I find Tucker destroying Ted funny I don’t think this will be the straw that broke the camels back, maga was designed to be a cult those in the cult will never leave is the mask slipping off refering to the swing voters, the constant republican voters, or the cult voters

“ New York City Comptroller Brad Lander was arrested by ICE agents during a peaceful protest at an immigration court..”

I don’t think this is an accurate representation of Mr Lander’s situation. He was not engaging in a protest but, it is my understanding from other news sources, was accompanying an individual through the halls of a municipal building.

Yes, that’s what I also understood … accompanying a man so that the man would not be detained on his way out of the building after his case was dismissed in court. This is the strategy being employed…. Dismiss immigration case in court, detain individual on their way out of the building! Ugh! Lander was telling law enforcement that there were no grounds for detaining the man he was accompanying. Ugh!

The astute observer will note how quickly your “heroes” in law enforcement took advantage of the new rules to become even MORE overbearing and abusive in their dealings with the public. Sure nothing like those cops on TV, huh?

I’ve served this country in uniform—as a Military Police K-9 Officer and certified Combat Medic in a combat zone. I’ve seen what most people only hear about in sound bites or catch in headlines. I’ve responded to the aftermath of IED blasts. I’ve stood guard while handmade Molotov cocktails flew at our position. I’ve treated wounded soldiers under pressure and watched teammates carry emotional burdens home that no one was ready for.

So when I hear calls for U.S. military involvement in the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran, I don’t just hear rhetoric—I hear the same justifications that sent too many of us into war zones without a clear mission or endgame.

Let’s be honest: the push for intervention feels familiar. And not in a good way.

Right now, there are voices in Washington—including former President Donald Trump and his MAGA allies—calling for swift and unquestioned military action. No debate. No congressional authorization. Just action. But that’s not leadership—it’s recklessness. It’s another case of politicians willing to send troops into harm’s way without thinking through the cost.

We’ve done this before. Iraq. Afghanistan. We were promised quick outcomes and justified missions. What we got were years of blood, trauma, broken families, and instability that’s still echoing across the globe.

We can’t afford to do this again.

Getting involved in a war between Israel and Iran won’t serve U.S. national security. It’ll inflame anti-American sentiment, pull our servicemembers into yet another endless deployment cycle, and derail critical issues we should be focused on right here at home—from veterans’ care and national infrastructure to climate response and economic security.

This is a time for restraint, for diplomacy, and for a return to the constitutional balance of power. That means Congress needs to do its job.

Thankfully, some are stepping up. Reps. Thomas Massie and Ro Khanna have introduced a bipartisan War Powers Resolution that would force the president to seek congressional approval before taking military action against Iran. In the Senate, Tim Kaine, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and Chris Van Hollen are pushing similar bills to block unauthorized offensive strikes.

This isn’t about politics. It’s about responsibility. It’s about making sure our government can’t launch another war without oversight. And it’s about protecting the lives of the men and women who will be the first to bleed if we get this wrong.

I’ve been close enough to know: we don’t need another war.

And if our leaders won’t say it, I will.

As a UK observer and fan of the DPackman podcast/ show/ comment I applaud and support your observations re Trump and his administration. You have my (and certainly most Brits) support for calling out this deranged and despicable man.

However, I equally find it perplexing as to why you fail to bring the Democrats to account regarding their passive stand with virtually no opposition statements, no alternative policies and no party comeback. It’s as if they no longer exist.

I look forward to your response.

And what happened to gas prices being slashed to "$2.00/gallon"? And what about Trump's recent comment that went "I had no idea that eggs were this expensive." Has anybody ever seen him shopping at Safeway? He has no idea what it costs to survive or feed a hungry family.
