Trump Fraud Lawyer Falls Apart Under Basic Questioning
Sidney Powell sat down for an interview with Australian journalist Sarah Ferguson and it did not go particularly well for Powell. Sidney Powell has been at the forefront of pushing Donald Trump’s bogus 2020 election claims and is now facing a pricy defamation lawsuit from Dominion Voting Systems. Feguson asked Powell how many states were using Smartmatic in their elections, which Powell could not provide an answer to, so she instead referred the journalist to her initial complaint. It quickly became apparent that Powell had no idea what she was talking about and that few areas of the country even use Smartmatic software. Backed into a corner, Powell asked Ferguson, “do you work for Smartmatic?” Then without evidence, Sidney Powell claimed that Smartmatic’s involvement in the election was far more extensive than the official data about where their machines are used, something that certainly would never pass in court. Frustrated by how the interview was going, Powell said, “I’m going to stop this interview. It’s totally inappropriate” and she walked off. After a brief hiatus, Powell eventually came back to finish up the interview but her answers did not improve. It was obvious from the start that Sidney Powell was not going to be able to support her outlandish voter fraud claims and this interview made that all the more transparent.
Joe Biden Has Officially Ended a 20 Year War
The longest war in United States history has finally ended after nearly twenty years. The Associated Press has reported that the final US troops have left Afghanistan and now President Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken have reiterated this. Much of the coverage has been negative in the past few weeks given the Taliban’s speedy takeover and the attack outside the Kabul airport on Thursday that took upwards of 200 lives. However, exiting Afghanistan was something that had to be done and Joe Biden followed through on what George Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump were unable to. The alternative was remaining in the country for five, ten, twenty or even a hundred years as some have suggested and that just wasn’t going to be a tenable solution. Biden is set to address the nation today and he will mention there will be continued efforts to get American citizens and Afghan allies out of the country if they want to leave. In the short term, many will see the tumultuous exit of US personnel as a failure, but zooming out, history is likely to view Biden’s decision kindly.

Fauci Supports Vaccine Mandate for All School Children
COVID vaccine requirements for students and staff will soon be coming to public schools and that has anti-vaxxers around the country furious. The move shouldn’t be controversial, as plenty of other vaccines are already required for kids to go to school. However given the politicization of the COVID vaccines in the United States, many parents are protesting and prepared to take their children out of public schools over it. Top infectious disease expert Anthony Fauci has come out and said that once kids under 12 become eligible for the shots, they should have to take them in order to attend public schools. Fauci explained his position on CNN with Jake Tapper, saying “this is not something new. We have mandates in many places in schools . . . requiring polio, measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis, so this would not be something new, requiring vaccinations for children to come to school.” As Fauci points out, this should not be considered controversial. Unfortunately, part of what the right does is assign fear and uncertainty to things that don’t call for these feelings. Once these vaccines get approved for young kids, it’s going to be perfectly reasonable to mandate them be taken like any other vaccine.

Republican GOV: We're Less Scared of COVID Because of Heaven
Mississippi is seeing a horrifying wave of coronavirus cases, hospitalizations, and deaths. A major reason why Mississippi’s numbers are so high is that the state has the second lowest vaccination rate in the country, only ahead of neighboring Alabama. Ninety-three percent of Mississippi ICU beds are currently in use with 63% of them occupied by COVID patients. This prompted Governor Tate Reeves to come up with bogus reasoning to explain the predicament Mississippi finds itself in. In remarks on Saturday, Reeves said that people in his state were “less scared of COVID” because they believe in “eternal life.” This justification falls apart under the least bit of scrutiny because these same people mitigate risk levels in other aspects of their lives. Few people would refuse antibiotics for an infection or not wear a seatbelt because they believe in “eternal life.” Yet many people in these conservative areas of the country are willing to apply this reasoning when it comes to not taking a COVID shot. Reeves is trying to spin Mississippi’s low immunization rates as a positive, but what he needs to do is take responsibility and do whatever he must to save the lives of the people in his state.
