Reporters DESPERATE to Make Biden Press Briefings a Joke
Right-wing reporters continue to make fools out of themselves asking questions to Press Secretary Jen Psaki and President Joe Biden. Peter Doocy of Fox News expressed concern yesterday about whether the Senate could approve Biden’s cabinet while also being obligated to be jurors in the Trump impeachment trial. As was explained to Doocy before, that’s really more of a question for the Senate than for the Biden White House. Doocy also took issue with insurrectionists being investigated as domestic terrorists when the rioters in Portland were not. This is yet another attempt from the right to conflate the destruction of private property with an attack on the government, democracy, and the Constitution itself.
Peter Doocy also asked Psaki about the 2021 Olympics, and whether Florida should host it if Japan backs out due to the virus. While not the worst question, it’s clearly not something that Biden has at the top of his list of priorities for his first week in office. Another reporter asked about Trump endorsing former Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders in the Republican primaries for the Arkansas Governor race. He wanted to know where Biden stood on that race and how high of a priority it was. Psaki rephrased the question and almost ridiculed him, as a Republican primary for a gubernatorial race in Arkansas in 2022 is clearly not something Biden is focusing on.
Rand Paul Has Complete Breakdown on Newsmax TV
Senator Rand Paul is still promoting the Trump voter fraud claims that led to the insurrection of January 6th. Paul tried to stop Trump’s impeachment trial from going forward in the Senate yesterday, arguing that it was unconstitutional for the Senate to hold an impeachment trial of a former president. This argument doesn’t make sense for a number of reasons: For one, that would make an outgoing president immune from consequences in their final weeks in office. Also, any president facing impeachment and conviction could resign to avoid being banned from holding public office in the future. Despite hearing these arguments, only five Senate Republicans voted to move the trial forward.
Rand Paul went on Newsmax to deliver some of his nonsensical arguments in favor of the former president. Paul tried to make the insurrection at the Capitol on January 6th a “both sides” issue because three years ago one lone mentally ill Bernie Sanders supporter shot Congressman Steve Scalise. The analogy is so absurd that it isn’t even coherent. Paul used to be seen as a somewhat reasonable Republican since he’s supposed to be a libertarian and can agree with Democrats on some foreign policy matters. Now after seeing him push the narrative that the 2020 election was rigged, we have discovered tjay he’s almost as nutty and foolish as Donald Trump himself.
From yesterday’s show:
MyPillow's Mike Lindell Banned from Twitter
Twitter has permanently banned My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell’s account after he continued to repeat bogus claims about Donald Trump winning the 2020 US presidential election. Lindell has been a fixture of pro-Trump events, even visiting him in the White House in the final days of Trump’s presidency to encourage him to invoke martial law. Twitter decided to ban Lindell over “repeated violations” of its civic integrity policy. Lindell is also up against a potential lawsuit from Dominion Voting Systems for his claims that their voting machines were part of the election rigging. If sucking up to Trump was just part of a grift to sell pillows, it could backfire tremendously if Dominion comes for all of his money.
