Fauci CRUSHES "Paradoxical" Republican Idiots
Dr. Anthony Fauci went on CNN’s “State of the Union” with Dana Bash over the weekend and made a compelling point about coronavirus and the American right wing. Fauci argued that it doesn’t make sense that the same people who most want businesses to reopen and mask mandates to end, also happen to be the group of people most averse to taking the COVID vaccine. After all, a new Monmouth University poll finds that 43% of Republicans don’t want to get vaccinated for coronavirus, as compared to just 5% of Democrats. Fauci correctly pointed out that people not getting the vaccine will prolong coronavirus infections, hospitalizations, and deaths, thus lengthening the period of time that restrictions will need to remain in place. If conservatives were more willing overall to get their shots, the US could reach herd immunity faster and get back to normal sooner. The current right-wing approach to COVID is paradoxical and Dr. Fauci aptly made that case.
Dr. Fauci in the post-Trump era is a new Dr. Fauci who is not shackled by concerns about getting undermined or fired. During the Trump administration, Fauci would constantly have to balance delivering good public health advice with appeasing a president who hated his messaging and could fire him at anytime. Now, Fauci knows that his job is not at risk and that indeed, President Biden wants him to speak the truth and follow the science. Unfortunately, a significant number of people will continue ignoring the nation’s top infectious disease expert and potentially prolong the coronavirus pandemic in the United States.
Tucker Carlson Obliterates Common Sense in Deranged Rant
Fox News propagandist Tucker Carlson continues to give half-baked takes on topics that have been well-studied by serious people. Tucker’s latest bad take was on the topics of immigration and change in society. In his typical form, Carlson delivered his populist-sounding rhetoric in a way made to seem as though he’s asking the tough questions that no one else is even willing to consider. He said, “if you’re over 40, you may have trouble recognizing your own country. It’s just too unfamiliar.” Tucker here is referring to immigration in America changing how the country looks and whites making up less and less of a majority over time. Carlson argued that these are the circumstances that can lead to a society fracturing and the population exploding. Tucker went on to compare the country becoming more diverse to the rise of the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany. While Tucker is a master at making white nationalist rhetoric sound mainstream, it doesn’t take long to understand the dog-whistling and recognize his message is disgusting.
From over the weekend:
It Begins: Nikki Haley REVERSES, Backs Trump 2024
Nikki Haley, former UN Ambassador and former South Carolina Governor, had long been considered one of the presidential frontrunners in the Republican field for 2024. But that changed after Trump’s reelection defeat and the “big lie” that followed it. After the Capitol insurrection on January 6th, Haley put out a message saying that it was a mistake for the party to have followed Trump for so long and that Republicans need to go in a new direction in the next election cycle. That statement lowered Haley’s stock in the party, as it turned out Trump is still overwhelmingly liked by GOP voters. Apparently recognizing the mistake, Haley is now backtracking. The former ambassador recently took questions from the media and announced that she will not seek the party’s nomination if Trump decides to run in 2024.

This may or may not seem ridiculous but it’s true. It’s not just Republicans that need more information on getting the COVID vaccine. I can’t tell you how many young and older Americans that believe that they don’t need a COVID vaccine. These same people claim to have had COVID but never saw a doctor. They now believe they are immune from Covid. This needs to be addressed. They are running around without a mask and when I talk to them about it, they immediately say, they’ve had Covid , no need for a shoot or a mask. I believe that a lot of Americans need incentives. You give some people a coupon and they will run out and purchase 30 rolls of toilet paper. Why not work with some lager well know companies (say coke a cola) . You prove that you have had the vaccine and you can go into your local store within 24 hours and pick up a large bottle of coke or one of their other products. A sticker would then be placed on the bottle. I’ve had my vaccine and coke thanked me. This is not only good for the company but the country too. So many people save and use coupons and right now so many people need help because they are still behind from not working. The job market is also now having a hard time getting workers to do the manual labor that’s needed in this country. Tie getting a job to having your Covid vaccine. I don’t have all the how we should go about this answers but it’s currently worth a try. Thank you, Peggy Ann
