Trump WALKS OUT of News Conference When Confronted on Lies
Donald Trump has been regularly taking credit for the Veterans’ Choice program, even though it was Barack Obama who signed it into law back in 2014. Trump still goes around bragging about it like it's something that he did. At a press conference over the weekend, Donald Trump was asked about it by CBS News reporter Paula Reid. Trump, having nothing to say, just walked off the stage and ended the press briefing early with his sycophantic supporters cheering him on in the background.
This is how fragile authoritarian dictators behave. They pretend to be alpha and powerful. Then, when their wild claims are subjected to scrutiny, they abort the situation. Trump shrinks like a frightened turtle and recedes into his shell when he gets fact-checked. This persona of power and strength very quickly falls apart when you confront Trump and make him address his obvious lies. And in this case, Donald Trump just walks off, unable to say anything at all.
Impaired Trump Tool Visibly Struggles with Arithmetic
Donald Trump's economic adviser, Larry Kudlow, was visibly confused and sounded off when doing simple arithmetic on CNN yesterday. Kudlow mixed together all different sorts of numbers relating to stimulus payments and federally boosted unemployment insurance. Kudlow mentioned a $400 figure, as well as $800, and also $1,200. It was clear that even he didn’t know what the plan is. Kudlows’s figures also didn’t match what those Trump and the White House had been floating. CNN anchor Poppy Harlow correctly took Kudlow to task and made him look bad.
The entire exchange was outrageously confusing and, quite possibly, deliberately deceptive. It was either incompetence, malice, or both on the part of Kudlow. There is also speculation that Larry Kudlow had been drinking before the TV appearance. Seeing him fumble around with the math and lose track of what he was saying seems to support that theory. With Kudlow, it’s always tough to say.
From over the weekend:
Interviewers Give Trump the Answers, He Still Gets Them Wrong
A live caller makes a very astute observation about how right-wing media outlets cover Donald Trump. Frequently during Fox interviews, the hosts will ask Trump a question while working in part of the answer as well. That sets Trump up to agree with the host and then ramble on with whatever else he wants to say. The funny thing is, Trump often messes up these softball questions and derails the interview entirely.
