OH NO: Trump Caught Lying About Epstein/Maxwell/Prince Andrew

The arrest of Ghislaine Maxwell came up during a recent Donald Trump press conference and the President had a peculiar response to it. He said, “I just wish her well, frankly. I've met her numerous times over the years, especially since I lived in Palm Beach.” Maxwell, the longtime girlfriend of Jeffrey Epstein, is facing several charges including enticing a minor to travel to engage in illegal sex acts. Donald Trump speaking so gushingly about her raises some serious questions: Why would Trump be so nice to her? Will Trump pardon Maxwell? Does Maxwell have dirt on Trump?

Another piece of Trump’s answer, which is getting less attention, is when he said, “I don’t know the situation with Prince Andrew.” Trump is lying here. When he was considering a run for president in 2015, Trump was asked a question about Jeffrey Epstein. Trump said to the media, “That island was really a cesspool. There’s no question about it. Just ask Prince Andrew, he’ll tell you about it.” Trump is caught in a lie here. It’s either that or he is suffering from serious memory issues. What more will we find out about the connection between all of these people?

Scaramucci: Trump Warned Ghislaine Maxwell to Shut Up

Anthony Scaramucci called out Donald Trump’s recent comments about Ghislaine Maxwell and how he “wished he well.” Scaramucci said on Twitter, “She has the goods on him. He is signaling ‘please don’t talk.’” The idea is that this language is really meant as code from Trump to Maxwell. It’s to signal not to cooperate with investigators and not to disclose any possible connection between Trump and Jeffrey Epstein. Trump has spoken in a similar way about people like Michael Flynn and Roger Stone, whom he later got out of prison. While this is speculative, it also seems incredibly obvious.

Can you imagine what would happen if Barack Obama was asked about someone who aided in sex crimes against girls and he responded by saying, “I wish her well?” Fox News would never let it go and want him impeached. It’s interesting to see how this will all work out, but at this point it might not even have a significant effect on the election. Most people have made up their minds about Trump at this point and his supporters would not believe it or not care.

From yesterday’s show:

Authoritarian Nightmare: Trump Deploying Troops to Chicago

Donald Trump announced a plan to send federal troops to Chicago to crack down on protests and crime. We’ve seen it happen this week in Portland and now Trump wants to expand the effort to apply to other cities across the country. This is an idiotic idea that will likely lead to escalation and more conflict. It’s also totally ignoring the reasons for the unrest, which include desperation over the economic recession. This is yet another effort by Trump to scare people into thinking we need a law-and-order leader and he is the guy to do it. It’s yet another power grab attempt by an increasingly desperate Donald Trump.
