BREAKING: Trump says he will be arrested tomorrow, EXPLODES
Failed former President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that he expects to be arrested on Tuesday. Trump posted in part, “THE FAR & AWAY LEADING REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE & FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, WILL BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK. PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!” The former president is currently facing a number of legal challenges, including this case in question which is related to hush money payments made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels. While Trump's claim could easily just be a bid to get ahead of the story, there are concerns about his followers getting stirred up by the prospect and this leading to violence and unrest. Regardless of the outcome, this story is likely to continue to dominate headlines in the coming days and weeks, as the world watches to see what happens next.
TRIGGERED: How MAGA will react to Trump arrest
If Donald Trump is indeed arrested this week, Trump supporters will be prepared with their defenses for the former president. There are five arguments that right-wingers have been testing out in anticipation of the announcement. The first defense is the claim that investigators resigned because there was no case against Trump, when in reality they resigned because they believed there was evidence against him, but no willingness to indict him. The second defense will be to focus on Hunter Biden, which doesn’t add up because the bodies investigating Hunter Biden are not the same ones that would be indicting Trump. The third defense is the claim that Democrats are arresting Trump because he is surging in the polls against Biden, even though polling data shows Ron DeSantis performing better against Biden than Trump. The fourth defense is the idea of a two-tiered justice system, which while it does exist, is divided along class lines rather than party lines. Lastly, they will go to the charges related to the Stormy Daniels hush money are weak and old news. This defense could be the most effective of the five, but will ultimately fall apart if this is only the first of many charges coming Trump’s way.
From over the weekend:
Trump Republican having to flush her toilet multiple times
The discussion on Fox News has turned to the supposed political issue of low-flow plumbing and appliances. Tudor Dixon, a failed Trump-endorsed candidate for Michigan governor, complained that her toilet wasn't flushing properly, and this prompted Sean Hannity to express his concern that he might lose his stove and dishwasher next. The conversation was sparked by Trump's infamous statements in 2019 about having to flush toilets 10 to 15 times. Of course, we later learned that Trump had a tendency to flush documents he wanted to hide from official records, and that could have been causing his clogging issue. Dixon also referred to the EPA's review of water regulations on shower-heads and faucets. Of course, the regulations on plumbing have not changed significantly under the Biden administration, but that’s what Trump and right-wing media want people to believe.
From over the weekend:
It's against the law for a Florida Governor to run for President
Republican leaders in Florida are considering changing a law that requires the state's governor to resign from their post if they want to run for president of the United States. The “resign to run” law was reinstated in 2018 as a way to make sure incumbent governors couldn’t spend their time campaigning for federal office. This raises the question of whether Ron DeSantis can legally run for president without first stepping down. A review of the “resign to run” law is set to take place this month, and Republican leaders in the Florida legislature have expressed openness to changing the law on his behalf. Once the law is presumably overturned, DeSantis will get the green light to announce his candidacy, which would likely come over the next few months.

Trump says he'll be arrested, world braces for chaos
On Jan. 6th, when Trump's Secret Service had to forcefully turn their vehicle away from the rioting crowd (against his wishes), why oh why didn't they let him make an appearance in person to show his support? It would have cemented his participation in the riot and he couldn't have denied it later. Were they afraid that a Democratic protestor would shoot him? As luck would have it, no one had the opportunity.
