Trump DESPERATE to Hide Documents from Jan 6 Committee
The January 6th committee continues and Democrats are now requesting documents from Donald Trump and his allies. The committee wants all communications related to the long lead up to the “stolen election” narrative and the Capitol riots. The former president plans to exert executive privilege to prevent his communications from being turned over and unfortunately there’s a serious chance of that defense working. But this is not how an innocent person behaves. If Trump wanted to prove that he had no involvement in the Capitol takeover, he could put everything out in the open in the ultimate act of redemption. Instead, the ex-POTUS plans to do everything he can to prevent the information from coming out, leading many to believe he has a lot to hide. Trump played the same game when trying desperately to prevent his tax returns from being made public during his four years as president. The truth is, even if damaging information did come out further connecting Trump to the insurrection, his supporters wouldn’t care and would simply dismiss it as fake news. But Trump must suspect it’s best not to let this information come out and that’s why we’re witnessing yet another meltdown from him.
Anti-Maskers Tantrum, HUMILIATE Themselves
The anti-mask temper tantrums continue around the country as the Delta variant surges and restrictions are gradually being put back into place. School board meetings are one of the locations home to these tirades as parents are in a tizzy over their kids having to wear masks as they return to school. At one recent meeting in New York, a parent suggested that the mask requirement could lead to sexual assault, because students and staff will be partially covering their faces. A woman in Arizona told her school board, “you’re probably driving around in your car with your mask on by yourself and I can’t help you at this point.” A man in Michigan tried to debunk the usefulness of masks by arguing that because people can smell through the mask, they must be ineffective at stopping the spread of COVID. Of course, the virus’s particles are many times larger than the other molecules in the air. So while people can smell through the mask, that does not mean they are not being protected from coronavirus by covering their face. Sadly, these anti-mask temper tantrums are likely to continue for the duration of the pandemic and they may even get worse as people get more and more frustrated.

A Lunatic Republican Could Actually Win California Recall
There is now a serious threat of a right-wing ideologue becoming the next governor of California, and if folks on the left don’t wake up and realize it, it could very well become a reality. Governor Gavin Newsom is facing a recall election on Tuesday, September 14th. Voters will be asked whether or not they support an early removal of Newsom from office. The polling on this question at this point is split, even though California is a reliably blue state. If Newsom is recalled, his replacement will be determined by whoever gets the most votes on part two of the ballot. Dozens of candidates are running to replace Newsom but standing at the front of the pack is right-wing Trumpist radio host Larry Elder. Elder has called for getting rid of the IRS and replacing it with a national sales tax. He wants to reduce government by 80%, to end welfare and entitlements, and to eliminate the minimum wage. Clearly, Elder’s views are not in line with the vast majority of Californians but he still has a legitimate shot at winning this race because of the flukiness of the Golden State’s recall process. Folks on the left really need to turn out for Newsom on or before September 14th in order to make sure Elder or another Republican doesn’t take the governor’s mansion.

BREAKING: Texas Governor CANNOT Ban Mask Mandates
A Dallas County judge has ruled against Governor Greg Abbott’s decision to ban mask mandates in Texas. The court issued a temporary injunction on the governor’s order, meaning school districts and municipalities will be able to enact and enforce mask mandates as they see fit. The injunction will likely be appealed by the governor’s office, so this may not be the end of the road. However, as cases continue to surge in the Lone Star State, the appetite for Abbott and other Republicans to keep fighting this battle may subside. Texas has been getting close to 20,000 new infections per day since the latest wave of COVID began in the end of July. If Governor Abbott spent half the time trying to fight the pandemic, by pushing vaccines and implementing basic social distancing measures, as he is in this legal fight to ban mask mandates, the state would be on a much better track to defeating the virus. Instead these Republican officials want to virtue signal to their base of supporters, who now a year and a half into the pandemic, are eager to end mask mandates and other restrictions without any concern for the risk to their health.
