Trump Slurring Badly While Telling Endless Lies on Newsmax
Sean Spicer, Donald Trump’s first press secretary, now has a show on Newsmax called “Spicer & Co.” This week, he had on his former boss for an interview. Spicer, his co-host Lyndsay Keith, and Trump discussed a number of different topics starting with Trump’s new social media website “Truth Social,” which Rep. Devin Nunes is going to be running. Trump said, “Devin is a fantastic guy. I think that he will do an incredible job. If our side doesn’t have a voice, eventually you’re going to end up with pure communism. It’s a disgrace what’s going on but you’re going to end up with a communist nation.” Spicer asked about Trump’s relationship with Mike Pence after the fallout on January 6th. Trump said about his former vice president, “he didn’t do whatever it is that you might say that he should have done.” The interview wrapped up with Trump hinting that he will be involved in the 2022 midterms, mentioning races in states like Missouri, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. This along with a likely run himself for president again in 2024 are exactly why progressives cannot ignore Trump and the effect that he still has on the Republican Party.
Dem Moves to Remove Lauren Boebert from All Committees
Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley is trying to have Lauren Boebert kicked off her committee assignments for making Islamophobic comments against Congresswoman Ilhan Omar. Boebert has made a habit out of calling Omar a terrorist, and she frequently refers to “The Squad” as “The Jihad Squad.” Pressley said during her statement, “we have heard the hate and credible threats that have been directed at Rep. Omar and her staff. Words have consequences. We must acknowledge that and respond with action.” While it’s unlikely that this resolution will go through, it’s obvious that Boebert has no business being in Congress and should at the very least not have any committee assignments. Even if the motion is successful, Boebert will likely just follow Marjorie Taylor Greene on the path of self-martyrdom and take it as a badge of honor. Then, if and when Republicans take control of the House for the next session, Boebert can stage a triumphant return to her committees which will only serve to embolden the right. Even if this is the right move by Rep. Pressley on principle, it could be the wrong move from the standpoint of political strategy.

CIVIL WAR: Dan Crenshaw SLAMS Marjorie Taylor Greene, Et al
There has long been a rift within the Republican Party between the Trump Republicans and the anti-Trump Republicans. However, we’re now also seeing a rift within the pro-Trump right, as illustrated by recent comments from Texas Congressman Dan Crenshaw. Crenshaw has always done his best to appeal to all sides of the Republican civil war. He’s super aligned with Trump when it comes to policy, but tries to distance himself from the Trumpian rhetoric and the craziest members of the party like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert. Recently, Crenshaw spoke before the Texas Liberty Alliance, where he criticized members of the Freedom Caucus for being “grifters” and not siding with Trump enough on the actual issues. He also pointed out that among those who voted nearly always with Trump was Illinois Congressman Adam Kinzinger, who is now vilified by the party for rejecting the Big Lie and voting to impeach Trump over the Capitol insurrection. While this sounds like a sensible stand against his fellow Republicans, what Crenshaw is actually saying is that these theatrical right-wingers should be more pro-Trump by voting with him more of the time.
From yesterday’s show:
Trump Was So Sick with COVID He Couldn't Hold Briefcase
When Donald Trump got COVID in the fall of last year, it was obvious that the public was being lied to about when the president first got sick and how sick he actually was. Last week, we learned from Mark Meadows’ new book that Trump tested positive for COVID a few days before his debate with Joe Biden. The new revelation from Meadows is that Trump was so embattled with COVID that his oxygen levels were dangerously low and that the White House medical team knew they had to take swift action in order to keep the president alive. According to the book, they even pulled Meadows aside and told him to convince Trump to get on a helicopter to go to Walter Reed Medical Center so that he wouldn’t need to be taken there on a stretcher. Trump was also reportedly so weak at the time that he could not even hold a briefcase. While Trump is now denying many of the accounts made by Meadows calling some of them “fake news,” it’s obvious who is more likely to be telling the truth here.
