Republican Loudly Booed at Commencement for Being Transphobic
Republican Senator Cynthia Lummis gave the commencement address at the University of Wyoming recently and she got a round of boos for delivering a transphobic remark. Lummis said, “even fundamental scientific truths such as the existence of two sexes — male and female — are subject to challenge these days.” This prompted the crowd to boo and Lummis tried to save face by claiming that she wasn’t “making a comment on people who transition between sexes.” The university tried to clean up the mess by saying, “UW is an institution that supports and celebrates its diverse communities that collectively make us the wonderful place that we are.” The college later released a statement on intersex people being excluded from Lummis’s remarks but largely sidestepped how her comments related to trans people. It’s quite rare for a commencement speaker to get booed, but in this instance it was warranted as the comment had no place in what should have been an inspiring and inclusive speech.
Newsmax Suggests Obama May Have Been "Reptilian"
Newsmax host Eric Bolling on his show this week speculated about former Barack Obama being a reptilian. It wasn’t entirely clear whether Bolling was taking the notion seriously or if he was mocking it, but the fact that this was even being discussed during a supposed news segment is ridiculous. Eric put up a graphic that read “how to spot a reptilian” and said that Obama checked the boxes of “low blood pressure,” “keen sight or hearing,” and “love of space and science.” Whereas some right-wing conspiracies have an inkling of truth to them, and others appear damaging to society, the idea that there are half-human half-reptiles living among us and in positions of power is really just dumb. It’s crazy that Bolling would dedicate time to entertaining the idea that Obama is reptilian but that’s exactly what one can expect from Newsmax.

Fox Hosts Blame Masks, Abortion and "Woke" for Buffalo Shooting
Ever since the tragic shooting in Buffalo that killed ten people over the weekend, Fox News has been trying to run interference and explain away the killer’s actual motivations. The shooter was a believer in the Great Replacement Theory which is often talked about by Fox personalities like Tucker Carlson and so really they deserve some level of responsibility for what took place. But instead, certain Fox hosts are blaming everything from masks, to abortions, to “woke” policies for the mass shooting. Jesse Watters, for example, said, “we’re setting these kids up for failure, for a generation deep in a mental health crisis after lockdowns, forced masking, woke ideology. Kids are feeling depressed. Just look what happened in the Buffalo situation. A teenager whose school system failed him decided his only option was to turn to the dark web where he was radicalized.” It’s often hard for people to look inward when they share in the blame, and that’s clearly coming through from Jesse’s rant.

The People Who Destroyed Madison Cawthorn Say Lauren Boebert Is Next
A new movement within the Republican Party is trying to oust the most radical Trumpian members from office, and it’s taken its first victory with Congressman Madison Cawthorn losing his Republican primary race on Tuesday. The American Muckrakers PAC, which released the sexually explicit video of Rep. Cawthorn in bed with another man, is now setting its sights on Congresswoman Lauren Boebert. David B. Wheeler, the co-founder of the PAC said about this, “I think we're going to go after Lauren Boebert in Colorado in a similar way.” The group claims to have dirt dealing with Boebert’s finances and it intends to release more details soon. Primary day in Colorado is June 28th, so there’s still plenty of time for the PAC to release the information and for it to potentially tank Boebert in the polls leading to her losing to a Republican competitor.
