Progressive Biden adviser SHOCKS Fox host with facts on the economy
Jared Bernstein, a progressive economic adviser to Joe Biden, recently appeared on Fox News, presenting a fact-laden defense of the current economic situation and refuting claims of a looming recession. As the Chair of the United States Council of Economic Advisors and a senior fellow at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, Bernstein emphasized that key economic indicators, such as unemployment consistently below 4% for 22 months, a decline in gas prices, and real wage gains, paint a positive picture. Despite acknowledging challenges like the global supply chain issues and geopolitical conflicts, Bernstein highlighted recent increases in spending on restaurants and online sales as evidence of economic resilience. Notably, he dissected a Fox News poll, countering the narrative that 44% expecting the economy to worsen is troubling by pointing out that 53% either expect it to stay the same or improve. This appearance is an exception on Fox News, where such data-driven, non-partisan economic analysis is uncommon, signaling a departure from the typical narrative of portraying Bidenomics as a failure.
Pro-Trump official asked SEVEN TIMES why Trump should be on ballot, CAN'T ANSWER
Joel Stetkis, the chair of Maine's Republican Party, took center stage in the recent controversy surrounding the removal of Donald Trump from the Republican primary ballot in Colorado and Maine. In a revealing interview, Stetkis struggled to offer a coherent explanation for opposing the decision, which was grounded in Trump's alleged violation of Section Three of the 14th Amendment. Despite repeated questioning, Stetkis could only assert that "it was just wrong," failing to provide a substantive legal or factual basis for his stance. This incident highlights the broader challenges faced by the Republican Party in defending Trump, as key supporters like Stetkis appear to grapple with articulating compelling arguments against the decisions made by the states involved, raising concerns about the party's position on constitutional matters.
From yesterday’s show:
LOL: Disgusting anti-gay county clerk must pay $360,000
Kim Davis, the Kentucky county clerk who gained notoriety for refusing to issue marriage licenses to a gay couple despite the Supreme Court's 2015 ruling legalizing same-sex marriage, now faces financial consequences. Davis, motivated by her Christian beliefs, rejected the marriage license, supported by anti-gay advocates, who saw her actions as heroic. However, as predicted by critics, the inevitability of legalizing same-sex marriage in the United States has made her stance appear misguided. A federal judge has ruled that Davis must pay $260,104 in legal fees and expenses to the attorneys who represented the couple she denied a license, along with an additional $100,000 in damages. Despite Davis's defense claiming the fees were excessive, the judge disagreed, emphasizing that she must pay since the couple prevailed in their lawsuit. Davis's legacy is now one of legal defeat, and her actions are likened to a losing side of history.
From yesterday’s show:
RFK Jr hires top anti-vaccine lunatic as comms director
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who downplayed the significance of vaccines in his campaign, has hired Del Bigtree, a prominent anti-vaccine advocate and pro-Trump figure, as his communications director. Despite Kennedy's earlier statements, Bigtree's appointment raises questions about the company Kennedy keeps. Bigtree, leader of the Informed Consent Action Network, the second-best funded anti-vax organization in the U.S., released a letter filled with misinformation upon announcing his new role. The letter falsely linked COVID-19 vaccines to widespread harm and death, calling for supporters to resist the "globalist New World Order" and contribute thousand-dollar donations for a health think tank. Bigtree has a history of controversial statements, including expressing a desire to spread COVID deliberately. While Kennedy's campaign initially gained attention, recent polls indicate a decline in support, possibly due to his fading interest in right-wing media. This alliance between Kennedy and a fervent anti-vax Trump supporter may further alienate left-wing voters and further diminish his candidacy's appeal.
