Trump ADMITS His Plan to Steal the Election
Donald Trump has revealed his plans for sealing the election if he loses next week, saying he may try to get the courts to stop ballots from being counted after November 3rd. Trump knows he’s down big in the national and swing-state polls, so he is preparing dirty tricks to try to win on a technicality. The President told reporters, “hopefully the few states remaining that want to take a lot of time after November 3rd to count ballots . . . won't be allowed by the various courts.” We knew Trump would try to get the Supreme Court involved in the election because now, with Amy Coney Barrett on the bench, it will be decisively in his favor.
Trump’s power play is outrageous on so many levels. Elections often don’t get decided on election night and when a race is close, they can take a few days before getting called. Add on top of that the massive vote-by-mail count and the added complications of a pandemic and the odds of a winner not being decided on Election Day go up. Trump hopes he’s ahead by just enough on the night of November 3rd so that he can declare victory and claim the outstanding ballots are fake. This is a president saying he will try to upend democracy in America and yet sixty million people will still vote for him.
Laughable Republican Says Fact-Checking is Censorship
During a Senate hearing on Wednesday, Utah Senator Mike Lee said that fact-checking is a form of censorship. The CEOs of Twitter, Facebook and Google testified before the Senate Commerce Committee. Jack Dorsey, Mark Zuckerberg, and Sundar Pichai answered questions about protections given to big tech companies and Republicans’ concerns about censorship on social media. When it was his turn to ask a question, Senator Lee asked about censorship, which he defined as when websites “block content, fact-check, or label content, or demonetize.”
Republicans don’t actually believe in freedom of speech even though they claim to be the ones on the side of the Constitution. They just want to be free to lie to you without any obstacles. In this case, the GOP wants to legally force private businesses, whose rights they normally defend, to let them lie to you. They want people to have the right to be ignorant and to not be exposed to reality. Mike Lee may not like when Twitter fact-checks him, but it’s by no means censorship.

Stock Market Collapses As Trump Virus Handling Is Trash
The stock market has been ticking down consistently over the past week. While the market is by no means the most important metric for assessing the economy, Donald Trump touts it as one of his greatest achievements and now it’s on the decline. The downturn is predictable. Coronavirus case numbers are soaring in the US with no sign yet of leveling off. As long as the pandemic is out of control in this country, investors are not going to be confident. Trump has been downplaying the virus all along in an effort to save the stock market, but he failed to understand that in order to help the market, he first had to get coronavirus under control.
