SCAM: Trump Funneled Donor Cash Into HIS OWN BUSINESSES
According to federal filings, Donald Trump moved $200,000 donated to his Make America Great Again PAC into his own private business accounts. The transaction took place in February, about a month after Trump left office. He also moved about $30 million from the PAC and put it into a Leadership PAC designed to support Trumpian candidates around the country. Once the Leadership PAC had $90 million, the former president took out an additional $79,000 to be used for his own purposes. The ex-POTUS also funneled money out of his Save America PAC which was formed after he lost the 2020 election to Joe Biden. The Trump Organization had transactions with several of these PACs, including for rent payments on which Trump received 100% interest. The Trump Organization continued collecting rent all campaign season from Trump Tower, even though his reelection bid was largely being run out of Washington DC. The Trump Organization chose not to comment on the nature of these payments.
Those who were following the creation of these Trump PACs knew that this was a grift all along. The money that Trump raised to try to overturn the results of the 2020 election went largely unspent and the fine print read that he could use the money to pay off old campaign debts. Trump’s entry to politics was likely a money grab itself, to promote his brand and gain more leverage over NBC to renegotiate his contract for “The Apprentice.” It’s likely that even Trump didn’t realize at the time that people would back his campaign and that he could ultimately go on to win the election in 2016. What followed was four years of Trump finding ways to profit off the presidency, which ranged from having Secret Service and foreign dignitaries stay at his hotels, to these types of alleged campaign finance scams. The real question now is whether Trump will have to face any consequences for these financial dealings and the answer is most likely going to be a resounding no.
Newsmax Reporter Suggests Delta Variant "False Flag" During Chaotic Press Briefing
A Newsmax reporter suggested during a recent White House press briefing that the Delta variant could be a "false flag" of sorts perpetrated by the Biden administration. Emerald Robinson of Newsmax had the opportunity to ask White House Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre a question and Robinson came across as being totally unclear as to how the science of COVID testing works. It appeared that the Newsmax reporter was asking for numbers on the amount of people getting infected by original strains of COVID versus people getting infected with the Delta variant. Jean-Pierre responded by talking about how contagious the Delta variant is and how it’s becoming the dominant strain of COVID-19 in the United States. Robinson, not pleased with that explanation, suggested that maybe the scientists and infectious disease experts cannot be trusted on this. She said, “a lot of the answers we get is because they say so,” suggesting that maybe the experts can’t be believed or would have an incentive to lie. Jean-Pierre handled the question beautifully, but there is no satisfying these right-wing reporters who are arrogant enough to believe that they know better about the medical science which they haven’t even looked at and can’t seem to understand.
From yesterday’s show:
Florida COVID HELL, New Case & Hospitalization Record
As the Delta variant rips through the United States, the state of Florida is setting new daily case records and hitting record hospitalization rates. That means the situation in the Sunshine State is worse now than at any point during 2020 and early 2021 when vaccines were not yet available to the public. On July 31st, Florida had 22,000 new cases which equals about a quarter of the nation’s overall new cases for the day. In the past week, Florida has averaged 1,525 adult hospitalizations a day, and 35 daily pediatric hospitalizations. Because deaths tend to lag new infections and hospitalizations, it remains to be seen how bad the surge in deaths will be. The positivity rate is also incredibly high, with 18.1% of people getting tested being infected with coronavirus. Despite all of this terrible news, Governor Ron DeSantis has vowed not to reintroduce any new guidelines, restrictions, or mask mandates. This is all the more reason for people to get vaccinated, but like in so many other parts of the country, calls for people to get immunized are being met with resistance.
