Republican Candidate Unable to Speak Coherently
Georgia Senate candidate and former football player Herschel Walker appears to have a difficult time speaking and explaining even a single policy issue. The latest example is when Walker was on Fox News and was asked by Brian Kilmeade why he won’t debate incumbent Democratic Senator Raphael Warnock. Herschel said, “Senator Warnock has nothing else to talk about. He don’t want to talk about the high gas prices. He don’t want to talk about the high groceries. I’ve told him many times, I’m ready to debate him anytime, any day. I just want to make it for the fans, not about a political party or about some media, and all he’s doing is talking. I want to make it a fair and equitable debate for the media.” Walker’s answer doesn’t make any sense, as a debate would consist of talking which is what he criticizes Warnock of only being able to do. The debate would also be intended not for a political party, or the media, but rather for the voting public or as Walker puts it, “the fans.” The actual reason Walker won’t debate Warnock is that if he did, he would get exposed for not knowing what he’s talking about and not being qualified to serve as a US senator.
IT'S HAPPENING: Newsmax Attacks Fox News for Turning on Trump
Newsmax is taking advantage of Fox News trying to distance itself from Donald Trump in favor of alternative Republican figures like Ron DeSantis. The backstory is that Fox & Friends reported on polling that showed the Florida governor ahead of Trump in a hypothetical 2024 matchup. This prompted the former president to go on Truth Social and criticize the show for “botch[ing his] poll numbers, no doubt on purpose.” Newsmax host Greg Kelly smelled blood in the water and criticized Fox saying, “I don’t like it. I don’ think it’s fair to Donald Trump. They’re trying to cancel him actually. You know, I knew the left wing was trying to cancel him. But the conservative media as well?” It’s quite possible that if both DeSantis and Trump run in 2024, Fox News will be pulling for one candidate while Newsmax is rooting for the other.
From yesterday’s show:
Attorney General Open to PROSECUTING Donald Trump
Despite the risk of looking like a political actor, Attorney General Merrick Garland says that he is open to prosecuting Donald Trump if the evidence points in that direction. NBC News anchor Lester Holt sat down with Garland for an interview and asked him whether he has to consider the risk of “tearing the country apart” in the decision of whether to indict the former president. Garland responded, “we pursue justice without fear or favor. We intend to hold everyone, anyone who is criminally responsible for the events surrounding January 6th or any attempt to interfere with the lawful transfer of power from one administration to another accountable. That’s what we do. We don’t pay any attention to other issues with respect to that.” So long as we can take Garland at his word, there does now seem to be a real possibility of Trump getting prosecuted for his role in the “big lie” and the Capitol riots.
From yesterday’s show:
SCOTUS Leak HELPED Overturn Roe v. Wade
The leak of the Supreme Court’s Roe vs. Wade decision appears to have been done by a right winger wanting to ensure that abortion rights got overturned. A new report from Rolling Stone says that Chief Justice John Roberts was lobbying Brett Kavanaugh to save Roe but that the leak put a stop to his efforts. The most plausible theory at the moment, therefore, is that a staffer caught wind of Roberts’ efforts and leaked the draft opinion to pressure Justice Kavanaugh to stay the course. When the draft opinion surfaced back in May, conservatives argued the leaker was obviously liberal and wanted them prosecuted for crimes they couldn’t even articulate. Now that some time has passed and it’s evident it was probably a right winger who did this, the right doesn’t talk about the leak anymore and simply rejoices over their win on the abortion issue.
