Trump caught ON TAPE talking about classified document he took from White House
Legal experts are discussing the potential for former President Donald Trump to face federal charges under the Espionage Act based on a damaging audio recording that has recently surfaced. The recording, obtained by federal prosecutors, captures a meeting in the summer of 2021 where Trump acknowledges possessing a classified Pentagon document about a possible attack on Iran. This contradicts Trump's previous claim of declassifying everything he took with him after leaving the White House. The recording suggests that Trump understood he retained classified material and was aware of limitations on his ability to declassify records post-presidency. Special Counsel Jack Smith, who is leading the Justice Department’s investigation into Trump's handling of national security secrets, considers the recording a crucial piece of evidence. Prosecutors have questioned witnesses and sought information about the recording and the document before a federal grand jury. The revelations will surely lead to more challenges for Trump's legal team who claim their client was well within his right to take the documents to his private home.
WOW: Mike Pence is running against Donald Trump
The Republican primary field is becoming increasingly crowded, with the notable announcement of Mike Pence, the former vice president, running for president against his former boss, Donald Trump. Pence's campaign aims to highlight traditional Republican themes such as fiscal responsibility, small government, and support for American allies. However, his decision to run against Trump raises questions about how he will address their disagreements and criticize Trump's presidency. Pence faces challenges in gaining support from both Trump supporters who view him as disloyal and anti-MAGA voters who seek a candidate unaffiliated with Trump. CNN is expected to do a town hall with Pence on June 7th and this may be when he makes his official announcement. As the primary unfolds, it remains to be seen whether Pence can effectively navigate the challenges he has and can come anywhere close to securing the Republican nomination.
From yesterday’s show:
DeSantis making America like Florida would be a DISASTER
The presidential campaign of Ron DeSantis, the governor of Florida, is centered around the idea of making America like Florida. However, this notion should be seen as a threat, as Florida is not necessarily a model to be followed. While Florida has attractive features such as nice beaches and restaurants, it falls short in a number of areas. The state ranks 25th out of 50 in healthcare quality, access, and cost, 20th in infrastructure, 33rd in opportunity, and 26th in crime. Additionally, Florida benefits from income and productivity generated by other states, but if every state were like Florida, this advantage would be lost. Furthermore, DeSantis has been criticized for his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, with Florida's per capita COVID death rate being the 10th highest in the country. His opposition to environmental protection, climate action, renewable energy, and voting rights has also raised concerns. DeSantis has signed bills restricting voting rights, limiting access to abortion, and opposing civil, human, and women's rights. Despite Florida's attractive aspects, replicating the state's policies nationwide would be an unmitigated disaster.
From yesterday’s show:
Trump TURNS on Kayleigh McEnany in bonkers rant
In a recent rant on Truth Social, former President Donald Trump criticized his former press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, turning on her for providing what he called incorrect poll numbers on Fox News. Trump posted, “Kayleigh ‘Milktoast’McEnany just gave out the wrong poll numbers on FoxNews. I am 34 points up on DeSanctimonious, not 25 up. While 25 is great, it’s not 34. She knew the number was corrected upwards by the group that did the poll. The RINOS & Globalists can have her. FoxNews should only use REAL Stars!!!” Hilariously, Trump wrote “milktoast” instead of the actual word which is “milquetoast.” This incident reflects Trump's strategy of turning on allies who don't fully support him or meet his expectations. While Trump's loyalty standard requires unwavering praise and unquestioning support, it’s going to become challenging to maintain that standard if other Republican contenders like Ron DeSantis begin to gain momentum.
