Obama Absolutely CRUSHES Republicans in Brutal Takedown
Barack Obama held rallies for 2022 midterm candidates over the weekend, and he completely humiliated a number of Republicans. In Georgia, Obama accurately pointed out, “[Herschel Walker] is one of the best runningbacks of all time. But here’s the question: does that make him the best person to represent you in the US Senate? Does that make him equipped to weigh in on the critical decisions about our economy and our foreign policy and our future?” At another event, Obama spoke about the ridiculous nature of Republicans who want to impeach Joe Biden despite not knowing what to impeach him for. He said, “if they can control the Congress they will spend the next two years investigating President Biden and their political opponents. That’s all they want to do. They see it as payback. Some of them said that they’ve already got prepared that they’re going to impeach Biden. They’re not sure what for but apparently that’s beside the point.” Even six years after leaving office, Obama remains one of the most powerful assets the Democrats have and hopefully, these speeches will make an impact on Election Day.
Trumpist Anti-Vax Anti-Semite Attacks Pelosi Husband in Home Invasion
Late last week, a man broke into the San Francisco home of Nancy Pelosi and attacked her husband, Paul Pelosi, with a hammer which resulted in serious injuries that required emergency surgery. The attacker is a Trump and QAnon supporter, an anti-vaxxer, and an anti-Semite. The 42-year-old man named David Wayne DePape allegedly broke into the Pelosi residence around 2 am local time Friday morning and repeatedly yelled out “where’s Nancy?” The House Speaker was not home at the time, and if she was, additional security would have been at the premises. The right has been responding to the attack by condemning all violence generally. While this is a good start, it ignores that there has been a concerted effort by these very people to encourage outrageous beliefs and intimidatory behavior for years now.
From over the weekend:
Trump Considering Marjorie Taylor Greene for 2024 VP
Donald Trump has repeatedly discussed choosing Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene as his running mate in the 2024 presidential election. The report comes from Robert Draper from The New York Times Magazine. He writes, “she has been unflaggingly loyal to Trump throughout. What is Trump concerned about most of all in a VP after the Mike Pence experience? Loyalty. He knows that if he needs someone to fight for him to overturn a presidential election. He has every reason to expect that Greene would be by his side and would be his proximate warrior.” It’s highly doubtful that Greene would help Trump pick up any extra votes he couldn’t otherwise get on his own. But the former president might value loyalty at this point more strongly than any consideration about what makes the most sense from an electoral standpoint.
From over the weekend:
Sarah Palin TRIGGERED That Fellow Republican Is Supporting Dem Over Her
Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is having a difficult time launching herself back into political relevance with her second crack at winning a US House seat this year not going particularly well. Palin lost the special election in August to Democrat Mary Peltola and now the two are rematching to see who will be Alaska’s at-large representative for the next two years. Palin, who needs all the help she can get, is not getting any assistance from Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski, a fellow Republican. Sarah went on Steve Bannon’s show and complained about the snub, saying, “she’s not a Republican. She just announced the other day she’s not voting for me in my race. She’s not voting for the Republican Party. She’s actually literally announcing that she’s voting for the Democrat in my congressional race so that I don’t win.” Palin is so unpopular in Alaska now that not only is she down in the polls, even her fellow Republicans in the state won’t support her.
