Trump's Voice Fails at Bizarre Event
President Trump held an event at the White House rose garden yesterday to speak remotely to a number of economic clubs. The most notable thing about this showing was how Trump appeared to once again be displaying symptoms for COVID-19. The President’s energy levels were low and his voice sounded raspy and labored. It’s unclear whether Trump is still on medication or even if he really is negative for the virus at this point. Later in the day, Trump went to Iowa for a rally and his voice sounded almost as bad. It’s not clear if the President is out of the woods yet in dealing with coronavirus and we can’t be totally assured that he’s no longer contagious.
During the White House event, Trump talked about how his administration is defeating the globalists. He claimed that if Joe Biden gets elected president, the US will experience an economic depression worse than 1929. This one is quite interesting because Trump has overseen the worst recession since that time period. Trump wrapped up by bragging about saving two million lives, which is the number of people who would have died if the US government decided to do literally nothing at all to address the virus — something no president could ever get away with.
Jake Tapper LAUGHS in Trump Adviser's Face
Jake Tapper had Trump economic adviser Larry Kudlow on his CNN show to discuss the current state of the economy and possible future stimulus packages. The strange thing about this interview was how Kudlow wanted to shift away from economic matters and discuss the virus itself, even though he’s no doctor or expert in infectious diseases. Kudlow said, “we are learning to deal with the virus in a targeted, safe, preventive way,” to which Tapper responded with laughter and a simple, “no we’re not.”
It’s great that Jake Tapper called out this attempt at deception from Larry Kudlow. The Trump administration and campaign have been acting as though the US has rounded the corner on the pandemic (or as Trump says, “rounded the turn”). In reality, cases are trending back upwards and we’re currently average 50,000 new cases a day. Deaths are a lagging indicator and are expected to tick back up over the next two to three weeks as well. Dr. Anthony Fauci says we need to get down to 10,000 new cases a day to get the virus somewhere near “under control.” This administration has proven to be unwilling and unable to execute a strategy on how to get there.
From yesterday’s show:
ACB SCOTUS Confirmation Hearing a House of Horrors
The Senate hearings for the appointment of judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court are taking place this week. In all likelihood Barrett will get confirmed by Republicans who have the votes to do it unilaterally, completing their theft of a Supreme Court seat going back to 2016. Barrett is pretending that she will be neutral when deciding on cases and not approach them from a right-wing bias, which everyone knows to be untrue. Senators Dianne Feinstein, Cory Booker, and Kamala Harris helped expose her right-wing radicalism with their lines of questioning on Monday.
