Doctors SHOCKED by Trump's Cognitive Test Results
Donald Trump went on Fox News recently and bragged about how well he did on a cognitive exam a few years ago. Trump said the doctors at Walter Reed Medical Center were “very surprised” and thought his results were “an unbelievable thing.” Trump is of course saying this to defend against concerns about his cognitive abilities while simultaneously putting Joe Biden’s into question.
Is anyone else sick of the hyperbole? No doctor would be shocked by Donald Trump’s test results because it’s perfectly common for people to do well on those exams. The test Trump is most likely referring to is the Montreal cognitive assessment that he took a few years ago. That exam has the test-taker identify three animals, draw the time on a clock, name the date and location, among other easy tasks. The fact that Trump is bragging about passing this test makes no sense, but it’s yet another way to bamboozle his loyal supporters.
Florida SETS RECORD, 15,000 Cases in ONE DAY
The United States is breaking more coronavirus records and it’s not the kind of records we want to be breaking. On Friday, nearly 72,000 new coronavirus cases were reported, far surpassing the marks set in April. Florida has been one of the hardest-hit states, especially in recent days, reporting 15,300 new cases on Sunday alone. Death totals luckily have not spiked yet, but they very well could in the next couple weeks as deaths tend to track a few weeks behind cases.
There are really three levels of failure with the US’s response to coronavirus: Trump’s poor leadership, failure on testing and masks, and later ignoring the pandemic altogether is just one of them. There’s also the disjointed messaging and scattered closings and reopenings by governors across the country, which has proven ineffective. And lastly, we have a contingent of people that are anti-science, won’t wear masks, and won’t socially distance themselves. The three make a dangerous combination that could lead to unforeseen levels of despair in this country.
From over the weekend:
Why Don't Right-Wingers Care About Our Global Reputation?
A caller asks why conservatives don’t care about the United States’ standing in the world. Some right-wingers even wear anti-US sentiment by foreign countries as a badge of honor. What can be done to get people on the right to take our international standing more seriously?
