Secretary of Defense Denounces Trump, Trump EXPLODES
Donald Trump's former Defense Secretary, Jim Mattis, has completely denounced and condemned his former boss. Mattis said yesterday, “Donald Trump is the first president in my lifetime who does not try to unite the American people, does not even pretend to try. Instead, he tries to divide us.” He went on to say, “Never did I dream that troops taking [an oath of office] would be ordered under any circumstance to violate the constitutional rights of their fellow citizens, much less to provide a bizarre photo op for the elected commander in chief.“
Trump responded, predictably, by insulting General Mattis on Twitter, saying, “probably the only thing Barack Obama and I have in common is that we both had the honor of firing Jim Mattis, the world's most overrated general.” It is amazing to see Trump’s former cabinet officials turn against him and how he can only respond with childish attacks. While I’m no big fan of Jim Mattis, I understand he at least ostensibly cares about the Constitution and standing up for what’s right.
Fox Edits Video, Removes Police with Guns Cuffing Innocent Black People
A local Fox affiliate in Los Angeles ran a story about business owners defending their property from looters and chaos ensued when police officers came to the scene. In real-time, you can see cops reacting to a situation before assessing what is going on and acting on preconceived biases by handcuffing innocent black people at the scene. While bystanders and the property owners are detained, the troublemakers presumably got away.
Even crazier, Fox News’s national outlet picked up on the story and selectively edited out the parts where police were acting erratically and being unhelpful. This is how they push the narrative that the police can do no wrong and ignore very important context. As sickening as it is, it is likely effective on those who are already in the right-wing media echo-chamber.

Elizabeth Warren Joins Protests with Her Dog
Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren joined the protests earlier this week, marching with her husband and her absolutely delightful dog, a golden retriever named Bailey. Asked by a protester why Trump is sending in the military to target them, Warren said, “because he is wrong.” Contrast the approach Warren, Joe Biden, and other Democratic leaders are taking with that of Donald Trump, who hid in a bunker and vowed to “dominate” the protesters.
