Steve Bannon Backs Fox Host, Tells Fauci: "We're Getting You"
Former Trump propagandist and “War Room” host Steve Bannon is piling onto the attacks against Dr. Anthony Fauci. Earlier this week, Fox News host Jesse Watters made headlines for saying he wanted people to “ambush” Fauci and made allusions to him being professionally “dead” if people bring up the lab leak theory to him. The nation’s top infectious disease expert said that Watters should be fired over these comments given Fauci already has to deal with death threats and this type of rhetoric could further put his life at risk. Now, Steve Bannon is backing up Watters, calling him “great” and addressing Fauci with the comment, “we’re getting you.” Bannon now makes a living off appealing to Donald Trump’s wackiest supporters and it’s comments like these that could potentially lead to a stochastic terrorism event. Many of these right-wing hosts have audiences in the range of hundreds of thousands or even millions and there’s a significant possibility that one of those viewers could view these comments as a call to action and commit a horrible act based on them. This is exactly why people like Watters and Bannon need to put an end to this rhetoric, but of course they have no interest in doing so.
Mark Meadows May Be Next in Prison For Trump
Mark Meadows, Donald Trump’s former Chief of Staff, could face criminal charges and prison time for refusing to cooperate with the January 6th commission. Up until a few weeks ago, Meadows was complying with the committee and turned over thousands of pages of documents. These included the infamous texts from Fox News hosts urging Meadows to get Trump to tell his supporters to go home on the day of the Capitol riots. But ever since angering Trump with his book release and the revelation that Trump went about business as usual after testing positive for coronavirus, Meadows has cut off communications with the committee and now says he is not going to testify before them. Meadows’ lawyer, George Terwilliger, said about this, “the Select Committee's true intentions in dealing with Mr. Meadows have been revealed when it accuses him of contempt citing the very documents his cooperation has produced.” The House has voted to refer Meadows for criminal contempt of Congress charges and there’s some chance the Biden Justice Department will take them up on that. If they do, Meadows will join a long list of Trump allies who gave up everything for the sake of sucking up to Donald Trump.

Biden Extends Student Loan Payment Freezes Until May
Joe Biden has extended the student loan payment freeze until May 1st. People who owe money for government issued student loans were not obligated to make payments throughout the course of the pandemic. However, that freeze was set to expire on February 1st up until Biden announced the extension this week for another three months via executive order. This is going to mean the world for the millions of Americans living with the burden of student loan debt, especially with COVID cases surging again and the economic outlook still not back to normal nearly two years into the pandemic. This extension probably would not have happened if not for the widespread push from the public and pressure from the left. The next order of business for the Biden administration on this issue has to be to offer some level of student loan forgiveness. The president promised while he was campaigning to forgive up to $10,000 of public student loan debt for every American who has it and nearly a year into his administration, that hasn’t happened yet. Biden certainly deserves some credit for the extension of the payment freeze but he can accomplish so much more on this issue.

Tomi Lahren CREEPED OUT By GOP's Love For Kyle Rittenhouse
Conservative political commentator Tomi Lahren is warning the right wing about turning Kyle Rittenhouse into a hero. Rittenhouse spoke at the conservative “America Fest” this week, which was a Turning Point USA event held in Phoenix, Arizona. His appearance was met with a thunderous applause and thousands of people chanting his name. Lahren found this off-putting and actually offered a reasonable response. She said, “I think we should step back a little bit and maybe not treat him like he’s a rock star or a celebrity. I don’t think that’s necessarily a good look for the conservative movement.” Lahren is probably correct here that the right is doing themselves more harm than good by treating Rittenhouse like a hero. Even though he was found not guilty and many believe he had a legitimate claim to self-defense, it’s still regrettable that he shot three people, killing two of them. If Rittenhouse had not gone to the riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin that night, those people would still be alive and that’s why his actions should not be celebrated even if they are believed by some to have been justified.
