Trump threatens Americans, Fox Host calls it "somber"
Failed former President Donald Trump did an interview with Brian Kilmeade on Fox News aboard his plane after going to the wake of a slain New York City police officer. Trump drew scrutiny for his unhinged rant threatening dire consequences if he doesn't win the upcoming election, despite the solemn context of the interview. He also falsely claimed that police killings are a growing issue when there have been relatively stable officer death rates over the past three decades. Similarly, crime levels in general have been decreasing for years, including violent crime and murder rates, even in cities like New York, contrary to portrayals in right-wing media outlets. The interview underscores the manipulation of facts in media, with Trump desperate to make emotional appeals to make his case.
Ben Shapiro twists himself into pretzel over Candace Owens firing
In a recent interview with Dave Rubin, Ben Shapiro elaborated on Candace Owens’ departure from The Daily Wire. Shapiro, despite claiming to not be directly involved in hiring or firing decisions, implied that Owens' departure was due to her divergent views on the Israeli-Hamas conflict. While Shapiro asserted that The Daily Wire allows for diverse speech, he also admitted to an "Overton Window" dictating acceptable opinions. This contradiction comes across as selective censorship veiled as free speech advocacy. Critics argue that while individuals may technically express their views, diverging too far from the organization's ideological stance could result in termination, effectively limiting free expression under the guise of freedom. This has raised questions about the integrity of platforms like The Daily Wire and the transparency of their editorial policies.
From over the weekend:
MyPillow Mike Lindell is getting EVICTED
Mike Lindell, CEO of MyPillow, faces eviction from a Minnesota warehouse over unpaid rent totaling over $200,000. Amid financial and regulatory woes, Lindell's company received multiple default notices before a judge ordered eviction. Lindell has invested heavily in pursuing debunked claims of voter fraud, raising questions about whether his business could continue to operate. Despite being banned from platforms like Fox News, Lindell claims to possess bombshell evidence of wrongdoing by Dominion Voting Systems, though he has yet to provide it. As Lindell navigates mounting challenges, his company's eviction suggests MyPillow could be on its way out.
From over the weekend:
Violent crime falling QUICKLY, right wing keeps lying about it
The perception of rising crime rates fueled by conservative media contradicts statistical data indicating a historic decline in violent crime in the United States. Despite President Joe Biden's assertion of a historically low murder rate and a significant decrease in violent crime during the State of the Union address, public perception often diverges due to sensationalized media coverage and anecdotal evidence. While overall crime rates have decreased, localized incidents and high-profile crimes dominate news cycles, shaping public opinion. Additionally, the conflation of crime with immigration issues by some political factions exacerbates misconceptions, as statistics show that the majority of crimes are committed by natural-born American citizens. Moreover, hate crimes targeting minority groups have increased, perpetrated by individuals often echoing concerns about crime. Despite the challenges, there is a need for continued dissemination of accurate data to address misconceptions and promote informed discussions about crime.
