Ivanka LIED About Supporting Coup, Documentary Footage Shows
Documentary footage of Ivanka Trump in the final days of her time in the White House suggests that she was more supportive of her dad’s coup attempt than was previously believed. Cameras were allowed in by Ivanka’s husband Jared Kushner to document the Trump family in the final days of the Trump presidency and now much of that footage is being used against them by the January 6th committee. Ivanka reportedly told the film crew that she supported Trump’s efforts to overturn the election results. This does not at all match up with the previous belief about Ivanka, which was that she wanted the big lie to stop and for Trump to peacefully concede the election to Joe Biden.
Desperate Republicans Pretend Committee Hearings Are Super Boring
Congressional Republicans are desperate to pretend as though the January 6th hearings are boring and that nothing is being learned from them. Senate Minority Whip John Thune said about the hearings, “to the degree that there are any people who haven’t made up their minds or don’t have an opinion one way or the other, maybe something comes out of this that changes that. But it just seems like right now it’s mostly rehashing ground.” Senator Lisa Murkowski also used the word “rehash” to describe the hearings, suggesting the entire GOP is on the same page with how to respond to this. She said the hearings are “a rehash of everything out there.” Senator Shelley Moore Capito said, “they’re significant, but I’m not sure it’s going to change anyone’s mind.” Republicans have to do their best to downplay the committee’s efforts because there have been some true bombshells revealed in the first few days and they very well may start to sway public opinion.
From yesterday’s show:
Krystal Ball SCHOOLS Bill Maher on Biden Being Too Left & Inflation
Krystal Ball went on Bill Maher’s “Real Time” show over the weekend and schooled him on the topics of Joe Biden being too far left, inflation, and the stock market downturn. Maher tried arguing that one of the reasons Biden’s poll numbers have been going down is that he’s gone too far to the left. Ball responded, “at the beginning of his presidency . . . he passes the COVID relief bill and low and behold he had very high approval ratings.” Krystal went on to point out how Biden’s poll numbers only began to slump once he ran into trouble getting his agenda passed through Congress. Later, the two debated whether increased spending during the COVID crisis resulted in high inflation and other issues with the economy. Ball pointed out how when rich people get government benefits they seldom receive the blame for it, however when poor and middle class folks get stimulus checks and unemployment assistance, they get blamed for crashing the economy. This was an excellent showing by Krystal Ball and we’ll see if she’s ever allowed back onto Bill’s show.
From yesterday’s show:
Trump Admitted in Private He Lost the 2020 Election
Former Trump aide Alyssa Farah Griffin went on CNN’s State of the Union with Dana Bash and explained how she overheard Donald Trump admit in private that he lost the 2020 election. Griffin said, “he admitted, he blurted out watching Joe Biden on TV, ‘can you believe I lost to this guy?’” Ever since his defeat, Trump has been parading around the country claiming he truly won the election and was cheated by mass voter fraud. If this account from Griffin is true, that could get to Trump’s thought process and perhaps show criminal intent with how he deceived the American public about the results. However, it’s entirely possible that Trump was able to convince even himself that he won the election between November 2020 and now. The former president likely has some form of narcissistic personality disorder and probably couldn’t reconcile the fact that he simply lost with the high opinion he has of himself. This will make it all the more difficult for the Biden Justice Department to prove intent if they ever decide to bring up charges against him.
