BREAKING: Joe Biden's VP is Kamala Harris
Joe Biden has chosen his running mate and it is California Senator Kamala Harris. Harris brings with her fundraising capability, name recognition, and she diversifies the ticket as a Black Asian-American woman. Harris also has debating skills, as emphasized by her takedowns of Jeff Sessions, William Barr, Brett Kavanaugh, and many others. Biden and Harris were rivals during the 2020 Democratic primary but now have united to take on Donald Trump and Mike Pence. This could set up the path for Harris to be the front runner in the 2024 election, if Biden wins in November and chooses not to seek reelection.
There are possible downsides to Biden picking Harris as well. Harris has been criticized for her record as California’s Attorney General. She oversaw thousands of marijuana convictions and wanted to lock up parents whose children were not attending school. Harris is clearly not the most progressive choice, but it can be argued she is the most strategic choice. Democrats do not have to risk losing their shot at a Senate majority, like they would if Biden chose Elizabeth Warren. While it’s not a shocking pick, the Biden team must have reasoned Harris was the strongest and safest option.
Trump Struggling to Speak As Brain Fails
The President held another coronavirus press briefing yesterday and this time it was downer Trump that appeared at the podium. Trump spoke about Biden’s new running mate, Kamala Harris, calling her a “nasty” woman. He lied by saying Biden and Harris want anarchy and want to take away the Second Amendment. Trump also expressed disapproval over Harris taking now-Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh to task during his confirmation hearings. Trump said that Harris was the person he wanted to run against the most, which he probably would have said about whomever Joe Biden chose.
During the press conference, Trump also insisted that college football needs to return in the fall. This recommendation wasn’t based on any public health analysis, but rather served as a way to give the impression that America is going back to normal. Trump continues to call the coronavirus the “China virus,” which doesn’t even make headlines anymore because people are unfortunately getting used to his xenophobia.
From yesterday’s show:
Trump Realizes He NEEDS Fraud to Win
As the 2020 election gets closer and Trump continues to flounder in the polls, Trump is realizing his best shot at winning reelection is by fraud. Trump has made his donor, Louis DeJoy, Postmaster General and DeJoy is already making cuts and reassigning employees. For someone who talks a lot about voter fraud, it is Trump who is trying to rig the election and suppress the vote. We need to overwhelm the polls with votes for Joe Biden so that there is no doubt in November who won the election.
