LOL: William Barr on Fox Host: She "Lost It"
Former Trump Attorney General William Barr reportedly said that Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo has “lost it.” According to accounts from Jonathan Karl’s new book, Betrayal, Bartiromo called Barr after the 2020 election and shouted at him over imaginary voter fraud committed by Democrats. Barr said to Karl on the record, “she called me up and she was screaming. I yelled back at her. She's lost it.” This is quite the revelation by Trump’s former hatchet man. While Bartiormo has been a Trump sycophant on the Fox airwaves for years now, it was unclear whether she was acting this way genuinely or if she was merely playing a character like so many others in right-wing media. This phone call suggests that Maria actually has been fully radicalized into being a committed member in the cult of Donald Trump. This is a long fall from grace for someone who was once a respected journalist and the first woman to ever report live on television from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange.
Now They're Trying to "Undo" Their Vaccination
Some conspiracy theorists are trying to “undo” the effects of the COVID vaccine after taking it. Many of these people refused to get the vaccine, but ultimately folded due to employer mandates. However, some are now trying to reverse the effects of the vaccine, which they perceive as a “poison.” One anti-vaccine TikTok user named Carrie Madej, an osteopathic doctor, claims that the vaccine can be “detoxed” with a concoction of weird ingredients like borax, baking soda, and epsom salt. While Madej is more of a fringe personality with 43,000 followers, other mainstream figures continue to disseminate content encouraging people to distrust the vaccine. Right-wing political commentator Dave Rubin tweeted that “I know a lot of people who regret getting the vaccine. Don’t know anyone who regrets not getting it.” Perhaps the reason why Rubin doesn’t know people who regretted not getting the vaccine is because they died of COVID. It’s exactly this sort of thought process that holds back progress and prolongs the pandemic in the United States.

Completely Wacky Judge Makes Kyle Rittenhouse Trial a Farce
The judge in the Kyle Rittenhouse trial, Bruce Schroeder, appears determined to make the case a total farce. It’s generally an issue when a judge plays a central role in a trial beyond simply officiating what’s fair and unfair. Unfortunately, Schroeder is playing a greater role than he should be. Some examples include when Schroeder made headlines for excoriating the prosecution for a possible constitutional violation. He also allowed the lawyers in the case to call the people shot by Rittenhouse “looters” and “rioters” but not “victims.” Last week, a political commentator from the far right network “Real America’s Voice” named Drew Hernandez testified in the trial and the prosecutor was unable to ask about the political bias of the company he works for. Judge Schroeder also has a technological ineptitude, which the defense has been able to use to its advantage in determining whether a zoomed-in picture should be allowed to count as evidence. The judge also has made a number of off-color jokes, including saying about lunch one day, that he hoped “the Asian food isn’t on one of those boats in Long Beach Harbor.” Some calculate this to be a political statement that shouldn’t have a place in the court room. A different judge may not have made the outcome of the Rittenhouse case much different, but just about any other judge in Wisconsin would have been preferable to Schroeder.

Trump DEFENDS Supporters Chanting "Hang Mike Pence"
In newly released audio, Donald Trump defended his supporters who chanted “hang Mike Pence” during the January 6th insurrection. The recording comes from an interview Trump did back in March with ABC reporter Jonathan Karl. Karl ultimatley used the quotes to make up part of his newly released book, Betrayal: The Final Act of the Trump Show. In the interview, Karl asked Trump whether he feared for Pence’s safety as the mob was going after him. The former president said, “no I thought he was well-protected and I heard that he was in good shape.” When Karl brought up the “hang Mike Pence” chants, Trump said “well, the people were very angry.” He went on to explain, “if you know a vote is fraudulent, right? How can you pass on a fraudulent vote to Congress?” Trump’s response here suggests that he was not only complicit, but actively in support of the mob threatening Pence’s safety. Trump made it seem like his own vice president’s fault that people were coming after him. This is the latest example of the ex-POTUS being completely self-centered and not caring at all if even his closest political allies are put in danger because of his actions.
