Tucker Carlson Encourages Fake Vaccination Cards
Fox News propagandist Tucker Carlson is now commending people who break the law by obtaining and using fake COVID vaccination cards. On his program, Tucker Carlson called the move not a “serious crime” but instead “an act of desperation” by “decent law abiding Americans who have been forced into a corner by tyrants.” What makes such little sense about this statement is that by definition someone who is using a fake vaccine card is not “law abiding” because it’s a crime to forge documents attested to be from the government. Carlson then tried to flip the script by arguing the people enacting and enforcing vaccine mandates are the ones who should be prosecuted as those people are “forcing people to take drugs they don’t need or want.” Tucker has maintained his vaccine skepticism and opposition to mandates when other Fox News personalities have backtracked from their initial positions and recommended their viewers get vaccinated. If only Carlson could put aside his right-wing fearmonger campaign for this one issue, maybe then it would encourage his millions of viewers to get their shots and sooner bring about an end to this pandemic.
GOP Councilman Mocked Fauci, Now Hospitalized with COVID
A Republican councilman named Fred Lowry from Volusia County, Florida has been hospitalized with COVID-19 after spending the last year and a half downplaying the virus and criticizing Dr. Anthony Fauci. Lowry has come down with double pneumonia and a fellow councilperson reported that “he’s pretty darned sick.” Lowry is being treated with monoclonal antibodies and doctors are hopeful he’ll be able to go home soon. The councilman attracted controversy earlier this year when he called Dr. Fauci “Dr. Falsey” and said things like, “we did not have a pandemic, folks. We were lied to.” Lowry has also criticized mandatory mask-wearing policies as well as the media’s coverage of hydroxychloroquine and the Wuhan lab leak theory. Hopefully Lowry makes a full recovery from the virus soon and uses it as an opportunity to warn his constituents about the dangers of COVID-19 and how it put him in the hospital. Unfortunately, stories like these keep cropping up and so far they haven’t had any measurable effect on vaccination rates. As the months go on, we’re likely to keep hearing about cases like these and it’s especially shameful now that most of these hospitalizations and deaths are avoidable.

Anti-Mask Coughing Woman Has Been Fired
Earlier this week, we covered a story out of Lincoln, Nebraska about a woman who went to a Super Saver grocery store and coughed all over the produce and a fellow customer in an effort to prove that COVID isn’t real. Video of the incident went viral and there was even talk of the woman potentially getting charged with third degree assault or even worse for deliberately coughing on people during a pandemic. While there as of yet have not been consequences that severe, we are now learning about the identity of the woman and that she has lost her job over the incident. The woman’s name is Janene Hoskovec and she is 55 years old from Arizona. Until this week, Hoskovec worked for the software corporation SAP and the company has chosen to let her go. SAP said in a statement, “the health and safety of our employees and the communities in which we live and work are of utmost concern to us.” Later they released a follow up statement, reading “we have reviewed the incident and can confirm that the individual in question no longer works for SAP.” This was absolutely the right move for her employer to make and we’ll wait and see if any legal consequences ever come about.

Trump Calls Confederate General "Genius" in Demented Statement
Earlier this week, a statue of Confederate General Robert E. Lee was taken down from its pedestal in Richmond, Virginia following a long debate. Last year, Governor Ralph Northam ordered the removal of the statue following the murder of George Floyd and the protests that followed it, but the order was temporarily held up by court battles. Now that the statue has finally been removed, Donald Trump has expressed his disagreement with the decision. He said in a statement, “Robert E. Lee is considered by many Generals to be the greatest strategist of them all.” He went on to say, “our culture is being destroyed and our history and heritage, both good and bad are being extinguished by the Radical Left, and we can’t let that happen!” General Lee was the leader of the Confederate forces who wanted to preserve slavery and actively fought against the United States. And Trump — virtue signaling to his far right base — chose to defend a shrine of him remaining up in public view . A statement like this from a former president in 2021 is shameful but it comes as no surprise from someone who has a long history of making racist and xenophobic statements and expressing support for reprehensible people.

I no longer feel sorry for the people who have caught and died of Covid. They were responsible for their own deaths. What's really sad is that the hospitals are filled with people who refused to have a vaccine, and the people who are REALLY sick (with heart problems, cancer, diabetes, etc.) have no place to go for medical treatment. The Covid cases are taking priority. At this point, everyone knows someone who has caught and/or died from the virus. A close friend of ours was undergoing chemo for liver cancer. His wife (a nurse no less) decreed that she didn't believe in ANY vaccines. He was dead within a week (and she caught it from him). His chemo was working, and we expected him to live for at least 1 yr. She, alone, killed her husband of 35 yrs. She made the decision for her husband to die. And now she is alone.
