Election DISASTER for Democrats in 2021 Races, Panic Rising
Yesterday was Election Day 2021 in the United States and the overall results were not positive for Democrats and the progressive movement. The race that got the most attention was the Virginia gubernatorial election, which polling had as a dead heat between Democrat Terry McAuliffe and Republican Glenn Youngkin. Although results are still coming in, the race has been called for Youngkin, who is currently up by a margin of about two percentage points. For the last decade, Virginia has been a reliably blue state, so this flip is a bad sign looking ahead to the 2022 midterms. There was also a governor’s race in New Jersey that Democratic incumbent Phil Murphy was supposed to run away with. Instead, the race hasn’t even been called yet, and though Murphy is expected to defeat his Republican challenger Jack Ciattarelli, it’s going to be by a small margin. These races should be wake up calls for Democrats who have been losing the messaging and enthusiasm battle ever since Joe Biden took office. If there is not a course correction between now and next November, Democrats are poised to lose more governorships, the House of Representatives, and possibly even the Senate.
30% of Republicans Now Openly Support Violence
A new poll from the Public Religion Research Institute finds that 30% of Republicans believe that violence could be necessary to “save” the United States. In contrast, only 11% of Democrats and 17% of independents expressed the same sentiment. Some of this likely has to do with the fact that Republicans don’t hold any power in the federal government now and so some could feel as though violence is their only option. It’s also an expression of anxiety over cultural changes which conservatives tend to fear more than progressives. These poll results also have ties to the January 6th Capitol riots. While the insurrection was ultimately unsuccessful in overturning the 2020 election, it showed the right-wing that with some planning, they can potentially change the government with might if they fail to do so with votes. There also weren’t significant consequences for most of the January 6th rioters, at least as of yet, which can cause some to believe they can be violent with impunity. Seeing the radical direction that the Republican Party has gone in over at least the last decade, it wouldn’t be surprising to see that 30% number grow the next time this poll gets taken.

Lindsey Graham Told Police to Shoot Rioters at Trump Riots
As we continue to learn more about the January 6th Capitol riots, we’re finding out more about what South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham was doing as Trump supporters were breaking in and putting the lives of lawmakers, staff, and police officers at risk. According to the Washington Post, as the riots were unfolding, Graham called for Capitol police to shoot the intruders as a way to hold the Senate chamber. He reportedly told the sergeant-at-arms, "what are you doing? Take back the Senate! You've got guns. Use them. We give you guns for a reason. Use them." Later that day when the electoral college vote counting resumed, Graham famously said that “enough is enough” and that Joe Biden had won the election and Donald Trump had lost. As the weeks went on, eventually Graham calmed down and went right back to praising Trump to get back on his good side. Unfortunately, it took Graham’s own life being put in danger for this change of heart to happen and it didn’t take long afterwards for him to get back to groveling at the feet of Donald Trump.
From yesterday’s show:
Critical Race Theory Most Important Issue to Guy Who Doesn't Know What It Is
A man being interviewed about Virginia’s governor’s race said that the most important issue facing his state was critical race theory being taught in schools, even though he didn’t know what critical race theory was. The interview was conducted by The Good Liars and the question specifically was, “what’s the most important issue in the governor’s race here in Virginia?” The interviewee responded “getting back to the basics of teaching children. Not teaching them critical race theory.” Jason Selvig, who was conducting the interview, followed up by asking: “and what is critical race theory?” which the man could not answer. He said, “well I’m not going to get into the specifics of it because I don’t understand it that much.” The conservative propaganda campaign appears to be working to distract people away from issues that actually affect them in favor of nonsensical cultural war topics based on false premises like critical race theory being taught in Virginia public schools. The pet issue for conservatives now is CRT, but soon enough they will transition into making something else issue number one facing the United States.
