Trump Tells Gay Supporters "You Don't Look Gay"
Donald Trump held an event in Mar-a-Lago and he addressed a group of gay people who support him. Trump said during the event, “where’s gays for Trump?” When some in the group identified themselves, he quipped “you don’t look gay,” which prompted many in attendance to laugh. Trump went on to brag about how he “did great with the gay population.” The former president generally doesn’t have a grasp on comedy, so he could have made this remark genuinely thinking that gay people are expected to look a certain way. Gays for Trump founder Peter Boykin said about this that members of his group “probably wouldn’t ‘look gay’ because it’s a stereotype that fits more with the typical ‘look’ of leftist LGBT.” He went on to say Gays for Trump is a “nationwide movement full of various types of gays and the gay community has a lot of diversity—the difference is the Gays for Trump lean right.” It seemed as though those in attendance were not offended by Trump’s remark and mostly just found it funny.
Man Wearing "F Joe Biden" Hoodie Attempts to Kidnap "Non-Binaries"
In truly disturbing footage, a man posted videos of himself “hunting” for non-binary people to TikTok with the implication being that he wanted to kidnap and do harm to them. The man, apparently in an attempt to seem funny, went around a city to places like hotels and restaurants, and spoke to people saying he’s going to “get all the non-binaries” and he’s going to take them to a hospital. TikTok took down the clips as they so obviously violate its terms of service and any standard of decency. But the videos likely go further in that they approach the realm of a terrorist act. The man is clearly trying to instill fear in members of the queer community and even though he might defend this as “comedy,” it has to be taken as a serious threat.

Republican Word Salad on Why He Won't Vote for Ketanji Brown Jackson
Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is expected to become a justice on the Supreme Court and even Republicans like Mitt Romney, Susan Collins, and Lisa Murkowski are pledging their support for her. However, Republican senators who are outside of the moderate wing largely plan to oppose her approval to the bench and many are struggling to come up with a justification for why. Jackson is immensely qualified, and in some ways, she’s more qualified than any justice currently serving on the bench was at the time of their nominations. Senator Roy Blunt from Missouri, for example, said on ABC’s “This Week” that he thinks it’ll be a “high point” for the country that the first black woman will be confirmed to the Supreme Court. However, he cannot support her because she views the laws and Constitution as “flexible.” Many progressive wish Judge Jackson had this “living document” view of the Constitution, but based on her answers during the Senate hearings, what Blunt is saying is not true and he’s simply grasping at straws to come up with a reason not to support her.
From yesterday’s show:
OH NO: Sarah Palin is Running for Congress
Sarah Palin, former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee, is running for US Congress to represent Alaska’s at-large district. The former Alaska congressman, Don Young, passed away last month after serving 49 years — a record for a Republican congressman. Palin is entering a crowded field to replace Young, and she certainly has the tenure and name recognition to give her an advantage. Palin in many ways was a precursor to Donald Trump, since she was proudly ignorant about policy issues and would give rambling word salad answers to questions from the media and the public. She’s been in and out of the public eye over the past decade and now she’s finally ready to go to Washington to join the wacky coalition of Trump-fanatic Republicans in the House of Representatives.
