OH NO: Trump KNEW He Had COVID During Biden Debate
According to a new book by Trump’s final Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, Donald Trump knew that he had COVID before his first debate against Joe Biden. The debate took place on September 29th and Trump only made it public that he had tested positive for COVID on October 2nd. This timeline led many to suspect that Trump had coronavirus during the debate itself and now it is confirmed that he did. According to Meadows, Trump first tested positive on September 26th following the Rose Garden super-spreader event for then-Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett. Meadows says that he was the person who informed the president of the news of the positive results. He writes in the book that Trump’s reply, “rhyme[d] with ‘Oh spit, you’ve gotta be trucking lidding me.’” Trump then took a second test and the result was negative, which he felt gave him license to carry on and conduct business as usual. In the following days, Trump played golf, held a press conference, and spoke with business leaders in the cabin of a new truck. He arrived late to the debate on the 29th and because of this he was not tested. The hosts of the event said they were relying on “the honor system,” which shows they were naïve to think the Trump team would have any honor.
Dr. Oz is a Disgrace, and He's Running for Senate
Dr. Mehmet Oz, best known for his TV program The Dr. Oz Show, has announced that he is running for US Senate in Pennsylvania as a Republican. This is someone who has promoted all sorts of quack cures including homeopathy, hydroxychloroquine for COVID, and green coffee bean extract for weight loss. Dr. Oz promoted energy therapies of various kinds, has been supportive of faith healing, kowtowed to psychic communication, and much more. Unfortunately, he has a real shot at winning this Senate seat and in so doing handing control of the entire body over to the Republican Party. Incumbent Republican Pat Toomey has announced that he is not going to be running for reelection making this a highly contested seat in what has become a purple state in recent years. On the Democratic side, Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman is running and he may provide the best chance for Dems to keep control of the Senate. If just one of these blue-controlled seats in the country turn red, then winning this contest in Pennsylvania will be imperative for Democrats to maintain control. It would be a crazy reality if Republicans take the Senate in 2022 as a result of Dr. Oz, but wackier things have happened in recent political memory.

Andrew Yang Mad About White Supremacy Question?
Andrew Yang, former Democratic presidential and New York City mayoral candidate, appeared on the show last week and ever since the he’s been facing criticism over one of his answers. Yang is building a third party known as the Forward Party, which aims to break through the two party duopoly by instituting things like ranked choice voting and campaign finance reform. He made it clear that regardless of whether someone views themselves as far left or far right, they will have a home in the Forward Party so long as they agree with its end goals. We then took this to its logical conclusion and asked if even people as radical as white supremacists would be allowed in the party. Yang paused for a second to think and then said, “yeah, if they’re going to help us transition to a more effective democracy, you know, I don’t need to know what their stance is on things that I disagree with.” In the days following, Yang has had to correct his stance calling it a “bad answer” and saying the backlash surrounding it is a “manufactured controversy.” He also released a tweet, reading in part, “people who hold ideologies - such as white supremacy - that are antithetical to grace and tolerance are not welcome in the Forward Party.”

Fox News Hysterically Attacks Low Vaccination Rate, Which They Caused
The right wing loves to blame the left for issues that conservatives are actually responsible for. One such example of this is debt and deficit, which Republican administrations will run up and then blame Democratic administrations for once they take office. Right now, the most prominent example is on vaccination for COVID-19. Fox anchor Jon Scott and Washington Examiner Editor in Chief Hugo Gurdon talked about how there have been more reported deaths from COVID in 2021 than in 2020 and tried to blame President Biden for it. Gurdon said, “more people have died under President Biden than under President Trump and Biden inherited the vaccine. He came into office promising that he was going to get his arms around this in a way that the previous administration had not. But the vaccination rate is only 58% here, considerably lower than in other places.” Missing from this analysis is the types of people who are most likely to refuse the vaccine which are Trump supporters and Republicans. Fox News itself runs anti-vaxxer content particularly during the nighttime commentary programs like Tucker Carlson Tonight. It’s not Joe Biden who deserves the blame for the relatively low vaccination rates in America, it mainly has to do with the fearmongering right-wing media apparatus which Fox is a large part of.
