Ron DeSantis launching campaign on Twitter, with Elon Musk!
In a long-anticipated move, Ron DeSantis is officially launching his presidential campaign, challenging Donald Trump for the Republican nomination. The campaign kick-off takes place tonight on Twitter through a live conversation on Twitter Spaces with Elon Musk, the platform's owner. The event, which was streamed on various platforms, aimed to leverage Musk's massive following of 140 million Twitter users to bolster DeSantis' credibility and reach. While the partnership with Musk presents opportunities, it also raises concerns about potential distractions caused by Musk's controversial comments and associations with other Republican officials. As DeSantis enters the race, he faces the challenge of gaining traction and support against Trump, whose polling numbers now consistently are over 50%. The path to victory for DeSantis hinges on his ability to sway Trump supporters through appealing policy positions, endorsements from influential figures, or a compelling case of being the candidate best positioned to defeat Joe Biden.
Trump EXPLODES over Ron DeSantis campaign launch
As news broke of Ron DeSantis launching his presidential campaign, Donald Trump wasted no time in posting his characteristic caps lock-engaged posts to Truth Social. Trump wrote, “Ron DeSanctus can’t win the General Election (or get the Nomination) because he VOTED TO OBLITERATE SOCIAL SECURITY, EVEN WANTING TO RAISE THE MINIMUM AGE TO 70 (or more!), VOTED TO BADLY WOUND MEDICARE, AND FOUGHT HARD AND VOTED FOR A 23% ‘TAX ON EVERYTHING’ SALES TAX. He was, and is, a disciple of horrible RINO Paul Ryan, and others too many to mention. Also, he desperately needs a personality transplant and, to the best of my knowledge, they are not medically available yet. A disloyal person!” These remarks from Trump highlight the contentious battle that lies ahead in the Republican primary, with both DeSantis and Trump likely to engage in a fierce competition for the nomination. Now that DeSantis has officially announced his candidacy, the real fun can get underway witnessing the candidates launching personal attacks back and forth.
From yesterday’s show:
Tim Scott's campaign launch was totally insane
Senator Tim Scott's presidential candidacy is underway after making his official announcement at a campaign event in North Charleston, South Carolina. Unfortunately for Scott, his campaign appears to be dead on arrival since he doesn’t have much support among the Republican base. During the speech, Scott claimed that he’s the candidate the far left fears the most, which isn’t backed up by any data. Scott also had audio issues during the event, where he struggled with multiple microphones, causing a prolonged awkward moment. Despite the technical difficulties, Scott managed to persevere and continue his speech. Tim is starting off his campaign with low polling numbers, only averaging 1.8% support according to Real Clear Politics. Scott is trailing behind several other candidates and potential candidates including Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis, Vivek Ramaswamy, Nikki Haley, and Mike Pence.
From yesterday’s show:
LOL: Trump sued AGAIN for EVEN MORE defamation at CNN town hall
Donald Trump's recent comments regarding E. Jean Carroll could end up costing him millions of dollars. The day after Trump was found liable for his sexual abuse and defamation of Carroll, Trump made disparaging remarks about her during a CNN town hall. In the court case, Trump was ordered to pay Carroll $5 million for his wrongdoing. However, apparently, he didn’t learn his lesson and couldn’t keep his mouth shut. Because of this, Trump now faces another defamation claim by Carroll due to his recent comments and she is seeking an additional $10 million. Carroll's court papers seek substantial monetary damages from Trump, claiming his post-verdict statements demonstrate malice and a lack of remorse. Trump will likely keep denying sexually abusing Carroll, insulting her character, and dismissing her accusations as fake. It is uncertain if Carroll will be able to collect the awarded damages, but legal experts suggest it is possible given Trump clearly has the money to fork over.
