Donald Trump Mike Pillow Worst Interview of All Time
Donald Trump’s full interview with MyPillow guy Mike Lindell has now been released and it’s chock-full of crazy moments. Much of the interview was centered around the 2020 election, even though it’s now been over a year since Trump lost to Joe Biden in that race. Trump made the case that all he needs to do is to flip the results of Arizona and some other states in order to get back into power. He’s still holding out hope that the results can be reversed even though this issue has long been settled and Biden has been president for nearly a year now. Trump also complained about how he’s supposedly lost billions of dollars since becoming president and how he “expected to lose a lot of money.” While it’s true that Trump’s net worth declined during his presidency, that’s because the public became aware that he had been grossly exaggerating his personal wealth for years, if not decades. The ex-president also complained about being banned from Twitter and Facebook which is also very old news. The interview wrapped up with the MyPillow guy being nearly in tears and saying Trump’s the “greatest president we’ve ever had.” Surely, Lindell will argue this interview will help bring about Trump’s reinstatement, but in reality, it’s just another disaster interview for people to make fun of.
Chris Christie Humiliated Over His Stupid New Book
Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has a new book out called, Republican Rescue: Saving the Party from Truth Deniers, Conspiracy Theorists, and the Dangerous Policies of Joe Biden. It’s rather obvious that the book is being released now as a way to propel Christie back into the national spotlight so he can be floated as a possible 2024 contender for president. In fact, the former governor is hinting that he’d even be willing to go up against Donald Trump to take control of the Republican Party. Christie has blamed Trump for his inability to accept the 2020 election results and whipping his supporters up into a frenzy to the point where some of them would be willing to take over the US Capitol. Chris did an interview with MSNBC reporter Nicolle Wallace to promote the book and Wallace confronted Christie for not going after Fox News even though he has a chapter about right-wing conspiracy theories and lies in the book. All the ex-governor could do was deflect and mention how he wrote about lesser conspiracy theories like Pizzagate. Christie accurately assesses that he can’t go after Fox because he needs to win over a large portion of its audience if he wants to be the Republican nominee for president.
From yesterday’s show:
Biden Signs $1.2 Trillion Infrastructure Bill Into Law
President Biden has signed into law the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill that had been debated in Congress over the past few months. There was a big signing ceremony on the White House lawn with a bipartisan group of lawmakers in order to celebrate. Of the $1.2 trillion, only $550 billion is actually for new projects as opposed to previously approved funds. Within that, $110 billion has been appropriated for roads and bridges. There is $66 billion for railroads, $65 billion for the power grid, and $65 billion for broadband. There are tens of billions of dollars allocated for water infrastructure, cybersecurity, public transit, airports, and the environment. Also there is $7.5 billion for electric vehicle charging stations and $7.5 billion for electric school buses. The funding will be going out over a five year period and many of these projects could take months or even years to start. A lot of these projects should be underway already as the US has lagged behind the rest of the developed world for quite some time on infrastructure. Sadly, previous administrations had been unable to pass anything on this, setting it up for Joe Biden to make it one of his most signature achievements thus far.

Republicans Now Also Refusing the Flu Shot
In the latest example of how vaccines have become political in the era of COVID, Republicans this year are now disproportionately refusing the flu shot. According to a new Ipsos poll, 68% of Democrats said they have gotten a flu shot or are very likely to get one, whereas only 44% of Republicans gave the same answer. Another poll from Kaiser showed that 65% of Democrats said they did or will definitely get the flu shot, whereas only 40% of Republicans said the same. There used to be nearly identical levels of flu vaccination between Democrats and Republicans. In February 2020, an AP NORC poll asked people if they got a flu shot for the previous year and the partisan divide was insignificant. In that poll, 58% of Democrats said they got the shot, whereas 54% of Republicans said they received one. The gap jumped from a few percentage points to about a 25% gap in these recent polls. While science has had a partisan divide for a long time, it wasn’t until the last year that this was reflected in vaccinations. Anti-vax sentiment used to exist mainly on the fringes of the left and right wings and now it is more clearly a position that many conservatives and Trump supporters are championing.
