HORROR: Trump WON'T Commit to Transfer of Power
Donald Trump was asked during yesterday’s press conference if he would commit to a peaceful transfer of power regardless of who wins the 2020 election. Trump’s answer was “we’re going to have to see what happens” and that the “ballots are out of control.” Trump is not so discreetly saying that he will commit to peace if he wins but not if he loses. People speculating over whether Trump will leave willingly need to look no further than these comments. Trump is admitting he would leave violence on the table if he doesn’t like the results of the election.
Later in the press conference, Trump was told that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle support Joe Biden, so Trump just flat out insulted the two of them. Trump called the flu getting mixed with COVID-19 “interesting,” which is quite a way to describe it. The presser was cut short by what was called an “emergency phone call” with the President refusing to elaborate on the Breonna Taylor charge.
Protests EXPLODE Over Breonna Taylor Charge
Yesterday, Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron announced a single charge connected to the fatal shooting by police of 26-year-old black woman Breonna Taylor at her own home in Louisville. Last week, the city settled a wrongful death lawsuit, agreeing to pay $12 million to Taylor’s family and a promise to enact police reform. As far as criminal charges go, two of the officers implicated in the killing got off scot-free. One former officer was charged with wanton endangerment because one of the stray bullets hit the property of a neighbor. That means that in essence, no officer was charged for the actual killing of Breonna Taylor.
Protests have begun in response to the grand jury’s decision and they are growing. Unrest is breaking out all over the country, including in Louisville where this tragic incident unfolded. The decision not to charge is a clear example that there is one set of rules for police officers and a different set of rules for everyone else. The degree to which cops are being protected right now is not serving justice — it is directly in opposition to a just American society.
From yesterday’s show:
Dems POWERLESS to Stop Trump SCOTUS Pick
Republicans are likely going to be able to jam through a replacement for Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the Supreme Court either before the election or during the lame duck period. Donald Trump announced he will make his pick on Saturday, and while two Republican Senators have expressed opposition, the rest are holding the line behind Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. Democrats have a few tactics they can use to try to stall the hearings and votes, but they’re probably not going to work. This is exactly why elections matter and everyone who thought Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton were two sides of the same coin in 2016 were wrong.
