BREAKING: Biden Withdrawing ALL US TROOPS from Afghanistan by 9/11/2021
In perhaps the most significant foreign policy news so far in the Biden administration, the White House has announced that all US troops will be leaving Afghanistan by September 11, 2021 — the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. When Biden took office, he reneged on the commitment Trump had with the Taliban to remove American troops by May 1st. Biden wanted to put a pause on geopolitical agreements set up by the former president to make sure they were done sensibly. One cynical reaction to this move at the time was that Biden would keep the United States in forever wars, whereas in contrast, Trump was the peace-seeker who was going to bring the troops home. In truth, Biden just wanted to evaluate if Trump could do anything right and concluded that the speedy withdrawal from Afghanistan made sense.
Officially there are 2,500 US troops left in Afghanistan but the real number is closer to 3,500. There are an additional 7,000 foreign forces there as well, most of which are NATO troops. Some military advisers want the US to remain in Afghanistan indefinitely, perhaps for decades like it has done in Europe and Japan. Others are war weary and realize now may be as good a time as ever to get out of the Middle East. Biden says he wants the withdrawal to not be conditions-based, meaning troops should be out by September 11th no matter what. The question that follows is whether the region will lose stability without the US involved and if it will fall to extremist hands.
Fauci SLAMS Tucker Carlson, "Typical Crazy Conspiracy Theory"
Tucker Carlson went on an anti-vaccine rant on his Fox News show this week that was so dumb it prompted Dr. Anthony Fauci to call out his conspiratorial nonsense. Tucker said on his program that he suspects the CDC recommends mask-wearing for fully vaccinated people because the shots don’t work well and the government just doesn’t want to admit it. Tucker said, “maybe it doesn’t work and they’re simply not telling you that.” This is not the first time Carlson has acted as though the efficacy of the vaccines is unknown. We know the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines to be around 95% effective and the Johnson & Johnson vaccine to be 66% effective. All three are extremely effective in preventing transmission, serious cases, and deaths. But Tucker won’t mention these facts on his show, he just pretends as though nobody knows about the efficacy of the vaccines.
Dr. Anthony Fauci went on CNN and was asked to respond to the clip of Tucker spewing vaccine-skeptical nonsense. Fauci wrote it off as a “typical, nonsensical conspiracy theory” and encouraged people to “look at the data.” The nation’s top infectious disease expert wrapped up his thoughts by saying “I don’t have any idea what he’s talking about.” Tucker’s goal wasn’t to provide legitimate concerns about the efficacy of the vaccines. Instead, it was to encourage skepticism from his audience over the shots and the government agencies that test and approve them. While Tucker is effective at getting through to his audience, at least Fauci was able to smack his claims down as the baseless conspiratorial nonsense that they were.

Police Chief Walks Out of Bizarre Press Conference About Shooting
We are learning more and more about the recent shooting by police of 20-year-old Daunte Wright in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. Wright was killed on Sunday during a stop for a traffic violation. Following a brief scuffle with police, one officer fatally shot Wright, apparently thinking she was using a taser on him and not a gun. Brooklyn Center Police Chief chief Tim Gannon held a press conference to discuss the incident and how officers are responding to ensuing protests. Gannon appeared displeased with questions by the media over his decision to authorize the use of tear gas and rubber bullets against protesters. The police chief got especially triggered by a question over stopping drivers over expired license plates, prompting him to abruptly walk out of the press conference. Later, Gannon returned to the microphone in what was a truly awkward display.
