Trump brutally booed, almost has to end speech
Over the weekend in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Donald Trump faced a humiliating moment as he attempted to promote his new $400 sneakers at Sneaker Con, nearly being booed off stage. Despite his efforts to sell “Trump sneakers,” the negative energy towards him was palpable, with the crowd chanting “Let's go Biden.” Speaking over the jeers, Trump attempted to market gold-colored sneakers through a dubious website. Adding to the chaos, a distraught woman took the stage, expressing fervent support for Trump amidst the booing crowd, showcasing the real “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” The scene descended into bedlam as attendees shouted conflicting messages, highlighting the divisive nature of Trump's presence. The incident serves as a sobering reminder of the consequences of unchecked mental illness and blind faith in political figures.
Trump fined $364 million, on brink of bankruptcy
Over the weekend, major news emerged as Donald Trump faced a staggering $364 million fine, for his involvement in the civil fraud case in New York. The New York Times reported that Trump's civil fraud trial penalty could potentially wipe out all his available cash, leading to discussions of bankruptcy. Judge Arthur Engoron criticized Trump's lack of contrition, emphasizing a penalty of $355 million plus interest, a three-year business ban for Trump in New York, and a $4 million fine for each of his adult sons, Eric and Don Jr. The situation highlights Trump's apparent cash shortage, as billionaires typically do not keep large sums of cash, let alone hundreds of millions. Trump's usual tactic of leveraging property for loans, which was central to the fraud case, may no longer be viable. His legal recourse involves potential fundraising via campaign donations, but the outcome of such an effort would probably not save him from bankruptcy.
From over the weekend:
Lara Trump pledges total loyalty to Trump if she becomes RNC Chair
Lara Trump appeared on Newsmax to reveal her unapologetic commitment to serving Donald Trump's interests if appointed as RNC chair. Lara explicitly stated that her priority would be to secure Trump's reelection, acknowledging that every penny of RNC funds would go towards this goal. This candid admission contrasts with Nikki Haley's criticism of Trump's nepotism and the RNC anointing him as their nominee before the vast majority of states have voted. Meanwhile, Trump's recent reshuffling of RNC leadership, appointing individuals closely aligned with him, raises concerns about the manipulation of the electoral process in his favor. The move signifies a shift towards further consolidating Trump's influence within the party, overshadowing any attempts to revert to a pre-Trump Republican era.
From over the weekend:
Cornel West word salad "explaining" changing parties 4 times
Cornel West, a progressive presidential candidate, launched his campaign in June with the People's Party before switching to the Green Party, then to an independent status, and now to a new party he's forming, with a presence in only certain states. Jordan Chariton questioned West's motives behind these changes during an interview, pointing out the confusion they cause among some voters. West justified his decisions by citing issues with each party's structure and other conflicts he had with them. Despite his explanations, critics see West's actions as chaotic and lacking in seriousness, since the frequent changes look incoherent, especially in contrast to the imperative to defeat Donald Trump. West's candidacy is not a viable alternative to reelecting Joe Biden and these constant party switches only add to its perceived irrationality.
