Trump Humiliated in Interview with False Resignation Announcement
Fox News had an exclusive interview with Donald Trump on Monday and it did not go well for either party. Harris Faulkner interviewed the former president and handled the entire thing irresponsibly. The exchange started off normal, with Trump talking about the situation at the southern border and making disparaging comments about migrants being “very bad people coming into our county.” Faulkner let that go on, as that’s normal rhetoric for Fox News. Then, Trump played his greatest hits by claiming that the 2020 election was rigged and that Joe Biden didn’t really defeat him. While some Fox hosts will now eagerly cut off Trump when he talks about voter fraud, Faulkner let him go on uninterrupted, never offering any pushback or follow-up questions.
The interview really started going off the rails when Faulkner falsely reported live on air that Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas had resigned. The Fox host apparently got a message in her ear that she misinterpreted, prompting a false report and then an immediate correction. Trump, standing by during the whole thing, was pleased about the news of Mayorkas resigning before getting disappointed by finding out it was untrue. Later in the interview, Faulkner asked a question about immigration that Trump apparently didn’t like. She said, “most presidents, ex-presidents, do not weigh in at this level. Why did you feel like you needed to on this issue?” Trump responded dismissively, with “well you called me, I didn’t call you, in all fairness.” Neither Trump nor Faulkner brought their A game to this interview and the result was an awkward disaster for the viewers.
10+ Dead in Colorado Supermarket Rampage
A mass shooting took place at a grocery store in Boulder, Colorado yesterday, killing ten people. Among the deceased was a police officer who was the first to respond to the crime scene. The shooter’s identity has not yet been made public, but the suspect is still alive and is in police custody. Boulder County District Attorney Michael Dougherty said in a statement, “this is a tragedy and a nightmare for Boulder County. These were people going about their day, doing their shopping. I promise the victims and the people of the state of Colorado that we will secure justice.” The mass shooting comes only one week after the Georgia massage parlor attacks, further highlighting the epidemic of mass shootings in America and the need for stricter gun control measures. Last year there was a significant drop in mass shootings due to the pandemic, but as society goes back to normal, the concern is that so will the frequency of these senseless attacks.
From yesterday’s show:
Trump Supporters TURN ON TRUMP Over COVID Vaccine
CNN sent reporter Gary Tuchman to a diner in the very conservative area of Boise City, Oklahoma to question people about the COVID vaccine. Tuchman asked the twenty-or-so people at the restaurant if they would be willing to get the shot and none of them answered in the affirmative. The patrons all had different excuses for why they didn’t want to get the vaccine. One suspected taking it could give them COVID, which is not an actual side effect. Others thought the vaccines were developed too quickly, perhaps not understanding that they were the results of a massive worldwide effort. At one point, Tuchman mentioned that Trump has taken the vaccine and recommends that others do too. This did not persuade these conservative voters having breakfast. One even threw the former president under the bus calling him a “liberal New Yorker.” There are not too many issues that Trump supporters will break with their guy on, but unfortunately, the vaccine appears to be one of them.
