Biden White House IN CRISIS as Afghanistan Implodes
There was a horrifying attack outside the Kabul airport on Thursday, taking the lives of at least 182 people, including 169 Afghan civilians and 13 members of the US Marine Corps. ISIS-K, an offshoot of the original ISIS, has taken responsibility for the casualties, caused by two suicide bombings and a mass shooting. People have been crowding the perimeter of the airport in Kabul ever since the Taliban took over the Afghan capital city two weeks ago. This provided an opportunity for infiltrators to kill a lot of people in a tight space. President Biden spoke on Thursday about the attack and vowed to find and bring to justice the people responsible for it. Some people, members of the media as well as politicians left and right, are arguing this is justification for the US military to continue and even ramp up the war in Afghanistan. To his credit, Biden is not listening to these voices and has instead pointed out that the US should not remain in the country as doing so would put even more American lives in harms way. Certainly the withdrawal from Afghanistan has been messy but the takeaway should be that it was going to be chaotic whenever it was done and after twenty years trying to nationbuild, it’s time for the United States to move on.
Trump Downplays 9/11 in Humiliating Interview
Donald Trump has been making his rounds in conservative media lately, trying to capitalize on the turbulent withdrawal of Americans from Afghanistan. Even though Trump promised to leave the Middle East but never got around to it, he thinks it’s fair game to criticize Biden for the drawdown not going according to plan. Trump managed to go too far with his criticisms on Fox News over the weekend, as he argued that his administration killing ISIS founder Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was more important than Barack Obama ordering the raid on 9/11 mastermind Osama Bin Laden. Trump, especially as a New Yorker, should know better than to downplay Bin Laden and the September 11th attacks in such a way. However, the ex-POTUS simply cannot get over his jealousy of Barack Obama and arguing that he had the better military operation under his belt is yet another way for him to go after his predecessor. Minimizing the tragedy of the September 11th attacks is not a new thing for Trump, who on that very day bragged about his building becoming the tallest in Lower Manhattan with the twin towers no longer standing. If a Democrat spoke this way, conservatives would be furious but since it’s Trump, these right-wingers don’t mind and in fact are willing to play into his delusions.

Mike Pillow: Trump Reinstatement Now by End of 2021
MyPillow guy Mike Lindell has picked a new reinstatement date for Donald Trump to return as president. The pillow tycoon and former David Pakman Show guest is now saying that by the end of 2021, Trump will be back in the White House and Joe Biden will be gone. Previously, Lindell had predicted August 13th would be the day Trump would come back to power. He argued that people would become convinced by the evidence they saw at the cyber symposium and that that would result in the Supreme Court ruling unanimously that Trump needs to be declared the rightful winner. Now that August 13th has passed, Lindell has to move on to the next date and apparently it’s some time before New Year’s. He must realize the date can’t be so far into the future as to demoralize people, but it also can’t be in the next few weeks because then his followers would realize his predictions are never coming true. Eventually, the talking point will be that the way to reinstate Trump as president is to vote for him in 2024. The reinstatement narrative is merely a way to placate people for now and perhaps also a way to get them to buy more pillows.

South Dakota Cases QUINTUPLE After Motorcycle Rally
South Dakota has seen coronavirus cases quintuple following the Sturgis motorcycle rally two weeks ago. That makes the Mount Rushmore State the place with the largest rate of COVID increase over the past two weeks in the United States. Meade County, which hosts Sturgis, saw cases go up to 330 reported in the last couple of weeks from only 20 cases the two weeks previous. If those numbers sound low, it’s important to point out that Meade Country has a population of only around 28,000 people. We also know that since the virus can replicate exponentially, the current count of 330 could easily balloon into the thousands over the next few weeks. This motorcycle rally tends to draw around half a million people and by some estimates, this year’s event was the largest one ever. If there is any silver lining to this superspreader event, it’s that much of the rally takes place outside where we know spread to be limited. However, anytime there is a lot of crowding and socializing, particularly when a good portion of the attendees are unvaccinated and unmasked, we know that can quickly become a dangerous situation. And unfortunately, weeks after the rally, that’s what we’re starting to see play out in South Dakota.
