Cancun Cruz Approval COLLAPSES...Among Republicans!
The political fallout continues for Texas Senator Ted Cruz after getting caught making a getaway trip to Cancun while the residents of his state were suffering from severe winter storms and power outages last week. While it was expected that Cruz’s approval rating would fall among Democrats and Independents after the scandal, it turns out that Republicans are turning on the Texas senator as well. Cruz’s approval among Republicans has fallen twenty points in what is perhaps the worst political situation for him since taking office in 2013. According to a Yahoo/YouGov poll, over 24% of voters approve of Cruz, while 49% disapprove. However among Republicans, Cruz is at 53% approval in the latest Morning Consult poll, which is down a staggering 23% from January.
While it’s incredible to think that nearly half of Republican voters now don’t approve of Ted Cruz, he’s still likely to recover his image as time goes on. Cruz bounced back from losing to Donald Trump in the 2016 primaries and he’s largely survived controversies of old. He also won’t be up for reelection again until 2024, at which point the power outage and subsequent Cancun scandal will be very much old news. If Cruz’s tanking approval is to have any effect, it will be because it leads to him resigning from his post, which there is absolutely no indication of taking place. Instead, Cruz will continue to bash the Biden administration, suck up to Trump, and appear on propaganda shows like Sean Hannity’s until his reputation recovers among Republican voters.
Ally of Marjorie Taylor Greene PARTICIPATED in Trump Riots
According to a new CNN report, a close ally of Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene participated in the January 6th riots and was one of the people who made their way into the Capitol building. This is conservative live-streamer and activist Anthony Aguero who worked with Greene on issues like immigration and attended pro-Trump rallies with her. The congresswoman has called Aguero “amazing” and a “friend.” Funny enough, Aguero contradicted some of the misinformation pushed by people on the far right who claim that it was actually Antifa and Black Lives Matter who were behind the insurrection. Aguero said on video, “It was Trump supporters that did that [January 6th]. I’m the first to admit it being one myself. I walked among all those people.” Now Greene is trying to purge her association with Aguero from the internet, but it’s a pointless effort since Greene has already revealed herself for who she really is.
From yesterday’s show:
GOT 'EM: District Attorney Has Obtained Trump's Tax Returns
The tax returns that Donald Trump has tried to keep secret for years have now been turned over to New York prosecutors. The Supreme Court this week ruled that Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance will be able to get access to Trump’s tax returns. It is suspected that the DA’s office wants to look into possible hush money payments, fraud, and other potential crimes. The information being investigated includes not only tax returns but also work papers, financial statements, and other documents relating to financial records. In total, millions of pages of documents will be under review. This information will not be released to the public unless charges get filed, but there’s always a possibility of a leak. This news could be the start of a chain of dominos falling on the former president leading potentially to a criminal conviction.
