Trump Crumbles, Brain Turns to Mush Before Our Eyes
Donald Trump held another one of his outrageous press briefings yesterday and his brain appeared to turn to mush before our very eyes. Trump was called out on his executive order protecting health insurance coverage for those with pre-existing conditions, something that is already covered by The Affordable Care Act. But Trump wants to fool people and make it look like it was something he did, not Obama. Trump was also asked if he would have criticized Barack Obama if 160,000 Americans died under his watch from a virus. Trump said he wouldn’t even though he criticized Obama for Ebola and called on him to resign over it. Trump doubled down on his position that students need to go back to school in-person despite outbreaks happening on the first days of school around the country.
Trump also did his daily fear-mongering about vote-by-mail, a criticism from which Florida is exempted because they have a Republican Governor. The President tried appealing to swing states by saying major automotive companies are moving to Ohio and Michigan. Like nearly everything with Trump, this seems like yet another lie and empty promise that will never come to fruition. The sad thing is, some Trump supporters will be fooled again like they were in 2016.
Russia Is Trying to Help Trump AGAIN
Russia is once again meddling in the US presidential election in order to help Donald Trump, according to US intelligence officials. This does not mean necessarily that Donald Trump is participating in the meddling. Russia is pushing their standard disinformation campaigns, this time targeting Joe Biden. There are also reports that China and Iran could be actively working to hurt Trump, thus helping Joe Biden.
To reiterate, the intelligence report on Russia does not mean Trump is actively coordinating with Vladimir Putin. It also does not excuse the United States from its many examples of interfering in foreign elections. This serves as an interesting geopolitical indicator about which countries and leaders support which American presidential candidates. It also goes to show that there really is a world of difference between Democrats and Republicans on this issue. Democrats have been actively working to stop election interference ever since the disaster that was 2016. Trump, Mitch McConnell, and Republicans have pushed back at Democratic attempts to protect US election systems and this is the consequence.
From yesterday’s show:
KILL THE MAIL: Postmaster Sidelines Postal Officials
Donald Trump put his donor, Louis DeJoy, in charge of the post office as postmaster general. We suspected that DeJoy would try to hurt the post office’s ability to deliver mail. He has already limited overtime for letter carriers, which is causing mail to pile up at post offices across the country. More cutbacks are now being discussed. But now the big breaking news is that DeJoy has reassigned or fired more than two dozen top postal officials. Two people have been removed and twenty-three others have been reassigned. Anyone whose priority is delivering the mail is being moved. This is all for Trump and his desperate attempt at holding onto power by suppressing the vote.

Stop the criminal!
So a voicemail collar makes the insightful very astute observation that we no longer have a democracy but rather a dictatorship. That is something that untold numbers of other people have been saying ever since Trump became president. it’s true but it’s definitely old news.
