Trump LOSES IT As Twitter Flags His Tweets Fake News
For the first time, Twitter has flagged Donald Trump’s tweets as possibly misleading. The two tweets in question perpetuated the conspiracy theory that mail-in voting will lead to fraudulent election results. Included in the tweets was a claim that “mail boxes will be robbed, ballots will be forged & even illegally printed out & fraudulently signed.” A blue exclamation point was presented below the President’s pair of tweets with the message “get the facts about mail-in ballots.” Trump tweeted his displeasure with the move, threatening Twitter with the force of law, and calling the fact-checking links “fake news.”
This is exactly what Twitter needs to be doing and it’s exactly what other social media platforms and journalism outlets need to be doing. This is called “responsible platforming” but Trump thinks it is somehow corrupt or unfair. Trump wrongly sees this as a violation of the Constitution’s First Amendment. Can you imagine a president this incompetent when it comes to the basics of what the First Amendment is? It will be interesting to see how the “free speech warrior” right will try to defend the President on this.
Kayleigh McEnany Can't Explain Why Trump Accused TV Host of Murder
White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany held a press briefing yesterday and was asked about the President’s twitter attack against MSNBC host Joe Scarborough. Recently, Trump has been spreading a conspiracy theory that the former congressman was culpable in the death of one of his interns who died tragically in 2001. When asked about why the President is accusing Scarborough, McEnany did not address the media head-on. Instead, she went into unrelated attacks about Mika Brzezinski and criticized a Joe Scarborough appearance on Don Imus’s talk show from back in 2003.
Kayleigh McEnany sounds ridiculous here but she has to defend an indefensible position. The President of the United States has resorted to accusing his political enemies of murder. To Trump, it doesn’t matter that the family of the victim wants the baseless conspiracy theories to stop. The accusations are not grounded in any evidence. All the White House Press Secretary can do is throw red herrings and talk about people who have no relevance. This has to stop, but we know they’ll never stop. We have to vote Donald Trump out in November.
