2nd Trump Riot a Completely Humiliating Failure
For months now, we’ve been awaiting a possible sequel to the January 6th Trump riots ever since a follow-up rally was scheduled in Washington DC for Saturday, September 18th. The event was ostensibly set up to support the defendants who raided the Capitol on January 6th which the organizers expressed were being held in jail unjustly. Capitol and Washington DC police were far better better prepared this time around and fortunately the event did not turn violent like the last one. What stood out about this rally was the sheer absence of attendees. The media and police presence was in the hundreds, but Trump supporter attendance appeared to only be in the dozens. One of the chants made by the protesters was repeating the name “Ashli Babbitt,” co-opting a “say her name” Black Lives Matter chant and applying it to a woman who was shot on January 6th while trying to breach the House chamber. Some of the attendees were QAnon believers and conspiracy theorists, with one guy telling a member of the media that the entire Capitol insurrection was a false flag event made to make Donald Trump look bad. These people are out of their minds, but at least we can be thankful that the event stayed peaceful this time.
Tucker Praises Comedian Jim Breuer's Deranged Anti-Vax Rant
Comedian and former SNL cast member Jim Breuer went on Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show last week to talk about how he refuses to perform at any venue that requires vaccination for COVID-19. Breuer was off the rails with his explanation saying, “I don’t want any of my fans forced — to come laugh — and they’ve got to get a shot in them?” The comedian went on to explain that the unvaccinated are being treated as “the other” and criticized Joe Biden for supposedly playing into that narrative. Breuer then said that what people need to be doing instead to prevent COVID is eating more fruit and going to the gym. He finished the rant by saying, “it is time for the power of the fearless. I’m sorry, but the fearless have to start rising because we know someone is wrong.” The bottom line is that no one is forcing anyone to go to a Jim Breuer stand-up routine. These venues and local governments have every right to mandate vaccination from patrons and if people don’t want to get vaccinated and stay home instead, then that’s their choice. The constant fearmongering from folks like Tucker Carlson and Jim Breuer acting as though these vaccines haven’t been thoroughly tested and aren’t safe and effective is what’s elongating this pandemic and the reason why so many people continue to die of COVID in the United States.

Roger Stone Served Lawsuit WHILE ON THE AIR
Last week, Trump crony Roger Stone was served lawsuit papers while on the air for a live radio interview. Stone was on “Tomorrow’s News Today” with Joe Hoft on Real Talk 93.3 and appeared to get distracted while talking about how it is “imperative” for Donald Trump to run for president again in 2024. Stone lost his train of thought and then said, “hold on a second. I have a process server at my front door about to serve me in the latest lawsuit.” The radio hosts sounded shocked as to what was going on. When Stone returned to the phone call, he said, “alright, I have just been served in the January 6th lawsuit — live, right here on your radio show. This is a big, big stack of papers, which is good, because we’re out of toilet paper.” Stone went on to call the civil suit “lawfare” and “harassment.” For those thinking there will finally be some justice for Roger Stone’s infractions, it’s important to remember that this is a slippery guy who frequently manages to get out of trouble. Stone was charged and convicted of seven felony counts related to the Robert Mueller Trump-Russia investigation. The charges included witness tampering, obstructing an official proceeding, and making false statements to investigators. Yet ultimately, Stone was pardoned by Donald Trump in one of the final acts of the Trump presidency. Perhaps he will once again find away around this legal predicament.

It's Time to Require Vaccines to Fly
At this point in the vaccination program, it should be a requirement to be vaccinated for COVID-19 in order to fly on airplanes. The reasons are twofold: For one, this will have some effect on lowering the rate of transmission on airplanes. But secondly and more importantly, based on the polling data we have, this would greatly encourage people who haven’t yet to finally get the vaccine. The nation’s top infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci agrees there should be such a mandate for air travel, saying during an interview with theSkimm’s podcast, “I would support that if you want to get on a plane and travel with other people that you should be vaccinated.” The US Travel Association has expressed its opposition to the proposed rule, saying, “such a policy would have an unfair, negative impact on families with young children who are not yet eligible to get the vaccine.” There would be any easy workaround to this however, which is to grant exceptions for those who can’t get the vaccine because they are too young or have a medical condition barring them from doing so. It’s hard to predict whether or not the Biden administration will move in this direction, but this seems like a sensible regulation that will surely encourage people to get immunized.
